Hi everyone! I’m Lorentm, a digital artist, and I’m so happy to welcome you back to my art blog. Today I want to share a very special piece inspired by one of the adorable characters from @holozing. For this fourteenth day of Zingtober, the prompt word is Trunk, and I decided to bring Chirple to life in her own little home inside a hollow tree.
¡Hola a todos! Soy Lorentm, una artista digital, y me alegra mucho darles la bienvenida una vez más a mi blog de arte. Hoy quiero compartir una pieza muy especial inspirada en uno de los adorables personajes de @holozing. En este día catorce del Zingtober, la palabra clave es Trunk (tronco), y decidí darle vida a Chirple en su pequeño y acogedor hogar dentro de un tronco hueco.
Chirple is such a charming little creature — round, fluffy, and full of joy. Her wide eyes sparkle with curiosity and warmth, and her small beak seems ready to chirp a cheerful tune. As I drew her, I wanted to capture her gentle personality, the innocence in her gaze, and the comfort of her home.
Chirple es una criaturita encantadora: redonda, esponjosa y llena de alegría. Sus grandes ojos brillan con curiosidad y ternura, y su pequeño pico parece dispuesto a cantar una melodía feliz. Mientras la dibujaba, quise reflejar su personalidad dulce, la inocencia de su mirada y la calidez de su hogar.
Creating this artwork filled me with peace. I imagined Chirple waking up early, peeking out from her wooden nest to greet a new day, surrounded by the soft textures of bark and leaves. It’s a scene that radiates calmness, just like the heart of nature itself.
Crear esta obra me llenó de tranquilidad. Imaginé a Chirple despertando temprano, asomándose desde su nido de madera para saludar un nuevo día, rodeada por las suaves texturas de la corteza y las hojas. Es una escena que transmite calma, como el propio corazón de la naturaleza.

Chirple sits comfortably inside a hollow tree, her little claws gently resting on the smooth wood. Her feathers are soft and layered, giving her that round, huggable look. The tufts on her head curve upward like a tiny crest, and her eyes — wide and glossy — draw the viewer’s attention immediately. Around her, the tree seems alive, with soft curves and carved textures that make her home feel warm and safe.
Chirple está cómodamente sentada dentro de un tronco hueco, con sus pequeñas garras apoyadas suavemente sobre la madera lisa. Sus plumas son suaves y están dispuestas en capas, dándole ese aspecto redondeado y adorable. Los mechones de su cabeza se curvan hacia arriba como una pequeña cresta, y sus ojos, grandes y brillantes, captan de inmediato la atención del espectador. A su alrededor, el tronco parece tener vida, con suaves curvas y texturas que hacen que su hogar se sienta cálido y seguro.
This piece represents not only Chirple’s home but also her world — a cozy refuge where simplicity and nature coexist. The leaves peeking from the sides frame the composition and give a feeling of peace, as if time had stopped for a moment inside this quiet hollow.
Esta obra representa no solo el hogar de Chirple, sino también su mundo: un refugio acogedor donde la sencillez y la naturaleza conviven. Las hojas que sobresalen a los lados enmarcan la composición y aportan una sensación de paz, como si el tiempo se hubiera detenido un instante dentro de ese tranquilo hueco.
Process / Proceso
The process began with a loose sketch, where I captured Chirple’s basic shape and expression. I wanted her pose to feel natural — perched comfortably, slightly tilted forward as if she were curious about something outside her tree. The sketch served as the foundation for the balance between her round form and the curves of the tree.
El proceso comenzó con un boceto suelto, donde capturé la forma básica y la expresión de Chirple. Quería que su pose se sintiera natural, apoyada con comodidad y ligeramente inclinada hacia adelante, como si tuviera curiosidad por algo fuera de su árbol. El boceto sirvió como base para lograr el equilibrio entre su forma redonda y las curvas del tronco.
Next came the line art. I refined the outlines with clean and flowing strokes, emphasizing the soft shapes of her feathers and the organic texture of the wood. This step always helps me visualize the rhythm of the composition — how the character and the environment flow together.
Luego pasé al delineado. Refiné los contornos con trazos limpios y fluidos, resaltando las formas suaves de sus plumas y la textura orgánica de la madera. Este paso siempre me ayuda a visualizar el ritmo de la composición, cómo el personaje y el entorno fluyen en armonía.
Coloring was my favorite part. Even though this version is in grayscale, I imagined warm brown tones for the trunk and soft creams for Chirple’s feathers. I focused on keeping a cozy feeling, using gentle gradients to enhance the sense of depth.
La parte del coloreado fue mi favorita. Aunque esta versión está en escala de grises, imaginé tonos cálidos marrones para el tronco y suaves cremas para las plumas de Chirple. Me concentré en mantener una sensación acogedora, usando degradados suaves para realzar la profundidad.
Then came the shadows, which helped define the interior of the trunk and give volume to Chirple’s fluffy body. I used soft shading to create contrast between light and darkness, giving the scene more life.
Después llegó el sombreado, que ayudó a definir el interior del tronco y a darle volumen al cuerpo esponjoso de Chirple. Utilicé sombras suaves para crear contraste entre la luz y la oscuridad, aportando más vida a la escena.
I added highlights next, especially in her eyes and beak. The glimmer in her gaze brings her to life and adds a sense of joy, as if she were smiling at the world outside her nest.
Luego añadí los brillos, especialmente en sus ojos y pico. El destello en su mirada la llena de vida y le da un aire de alegría, como si sonriera al mundo desde su nido.
Finally, I completed the background, shaping the interior of the tree with layers of bark and leaves. This step tied the entire composition together and made Chirple’s cozy home come alive.
Finalmente, completé el fondo, dando forma al interior del árbol con capas de corteza y hojas. Este paso unió toda la composición y dio vida al cálido hogar de Chirple.

Creating Chirple for the Zingtober challenge was a heartwarming experience. This piece reminded me of how art can connect us with simple feelings — peace, tenderness, and the joy of creating something cute and meaningful.
Crear a Chirple para el reto de Zingtober fue una experiencia muy reconfortante. Esta obra me recordó cómo el arte puede conectarnos con sentimientos simples: la paz, la ternura y la alegría de crear algo bonito y con significado.
