Hello everyone! I’m Lorentm, a digital artist, and I’m so happy to welcome you once again to my art blog. Today I want to share with you my piece for day 26 of this year’s Zingtober challenge organized by @holozing, with the keyword “Puzzling.” For this prompt, I chose to illustrate the male Light Healer, a character who deeply resonates with the theme of mystery and enlightenment.
This artwork is particularly special to me because it’s inspired by a real experience I once had while stargazing. Since I was a child, I’ve always been fascinated by the sky—the vastness, the stars, and the calmness that comes from simply looking up. One night, when the sky was exceptionally clear, I noticed a strange light moving irregularly among the stars. It wasn’t like anything I had seen before; the light spun within itself, glowing softly yet unpredictably.
I don’t usually believe in UFOs or supernatural explanations, but that night truly left me puzzled. I couldn’t explain what I had seen, and even today, it remains one of those unanswerable memories that keep you wondering. Maybe it was just a distant object, or maybe it was something beyond our understanding. Either way, that moment filled me with curiosity and doubt—emotions that became the core of this illustration.
As I started sketching the Light Healer, I realized he could embody that same feeling: someone seeking answers in the unknown, looking toward the stars for clarity and meaning. His serene yet thoughtful presence mirrors how I felt that night—calm on the surface, yet full of questions inside. Creating this piece allowed me to revisit that experience and express it through art, transforming confusion into reflection and beauty.

¡Hola a todos! Soy Lorentm, una artista digital, y estoy muy feliz de darles la bienvenida nuevamente a mi blog de arte. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi obra para el día 26 del Zingtober de este año, organizado por @holozing, cuya palabra clave es “Puzzling”. Para esta ocasión, decidí ilustrar al male Light Healer, un personaje que me parece fascinante por su conexión con el misterio y la iluminación.
Esta obra es especialmente significativa para mí porque está inspirada en una experiencia real que viví hace algún tiempo mientras observaba el cielo. Desde pequeña siempre me han cautivado los astros, la inmensidad del universo y la calma que se siente al contemplarlo. Una noche, cuando el cielo estaba particularmente despejado, noté una luz que se movía de manera extraña entre las estrellas. No era como nada que hubiera visto antes; la luz giraba sobre sí misma, emitiendo un resplandor suave pero irregular.
No suelo creer en temas de ovnis ni en explicaciones sobrenaturales, pero aquella noche realmente me dejó desconcertada. No pude explicar lo que vi, y hasta hoy sigue siendo un recuerdo lleno de preguntas sin respuesta. Tal vez fue algún objeto lejano, o quizás algo que aún no comprendemos. De cualquier forma, esa experiencia me llenó de curiosidad y duda, sentimientos que se convirtieron en el núcleo de esta ilustración.
Al comenzar a dibujar al Light Healer, me di cuenta de que él podía representar perfectamente esa sensación: alguien que busca respuestas en lo desconocido, mirando hacia las estrellas con esperanza y reflexión. Su presencia serena, pero a la vez pensativa, refleja cómo me sentí aquella noche: tranquila por fuera, pero llena de interrogantes por dentro. Crear esta obra me permitió revivir ese momento y transformarlo en arte, convirtiendo la confusión en belleza.

La ilustración muestra al male Light Healer sentado en silencio bajo un inmenso cielo estrellado, con su telescopio apuntando hacia una brillante luz en lo alto. Su largo cabello refleja el resplandor tenue de las estrellas, mientras su expresión transmite curiosidad y asombro. Viste un abrigo largo y una prenda oscura con una cruz luminosa en el pecho, lo que refuerza esa dualidad entre lo espiritual y lo racional; un sanador que encuentra su poder tanto en la luz como en el conocimiento.
El telescopio se convierte en un símbolo de exploración y búsqueda de la verdad. Representa ese deseo de descubrir lo que está más allá de lo visible, tal como el sentimiento que dio origen a esta obra. Las montañas y la hierba que lo rodean aportan serenidad al entorno, creando un contraste con la intensidad de la luz celestial, lo que acentúa el sentido de misterio y maravilla.
Process / Proceso
The process began with a rough sketch where I tried to capture the right atmosphere—the quiet awe of someone witnessing something inexplicable. I focused on the character’s posture, his gaze through the telescope, and the subtle tension in his body language.
Then I worked on the line art, refining the shapes and ensuring that every curve and fold added fluidity to the composition. Clean and controlled lines were key to expressing calmness, while the direction of each stroke helped guide the viewer’s eye through the piece.
Coloring was particularly interesting because this artwork is monochromatic. I explored different shades of gray to express contrast and emotion, creating volume and depth without relying on color. The subtle variations in tone became essential to transmit the mood.
Next, I focused on the shadows, which brought realism and structure to the drawing. They defined the folds of his coat and the roundness of the telescope. The shadows also reinforced the direction of the celestial light, anchoring the scene’s visual balance.
The highlights came next—soft touches of brightness on the hair, coat, and metallic parts of the telescope. These details made the scene come alive, suggesting the reflection of the mysterious light source above.
Finally, I completed the background. The dark sky sprinkled with stars and faint clouds gave the piece depth and emotion. The bright celestial object became the focal point, representing both mystery and illumination—the perfect embodiment of “Puzzling.”
El proceso comenzó con un boceto inicial donde traté de capturar la atmósfera adecuada: la calma y el asombro de quien presencia algo inexplicable. Me concentré en la postura del personaje, en su mirada a través del telescopio y en la ligera tensión de su cuerpo.
Luego pasé al delineado, donde afiné las formas y cuidé que cada trazo aportara fluidez a la composición. Las líneas limpias y controladas fueron clave para transmitir serenidad, mientras la dirección de los trazos ayudó a guiar la vista del espectador por toda la escena.
El coloreado fue especialmente interesante, ya que esta obra es monocromática. Jugué con diferentes gamas de grises para expresar contraste y emoción, generando volumen y profundidad sin depender del color. Las sutiles variaciones tonales fueron esenciales para transmitir el ambiente.
Después trabajé las sombras, que aportaron realismo y estructura al dibujo. Definieron los pliegues del abrigo y la forma del telescopio, además de reforzar la dirección de la luz proveniente del objeto celestial, equilibrando visualmente la composición.
A continuación, agregué los brillos, pequeños destellos en el cabello, el abrigo y las partes metálicas del telescopio. Estos detalles dieron vida a la escena, sugiriendo el reflejo de la misteriosa fuente de luz del cielo.
Finalmente, completé el fondo. El cielo oscuro salpicado de estrellas y nubes suaves aportó profundidad y emoción. El objeto celeste brillante se convirtió en el punto focal, símbolo de misterio y de iluminación, el reflejo perfecto de la palabra “Puzzling”.

Creating this artwork felt like revisiting a memory that still holds unanswered questions. It reminded me of how art can transform confusion into meaning, and mystery into beauty. The Light Healer became not just a character from @holozing, but also a reflection of my own curiosity and fascination with the unknown.
Through this piece, I wanted to share not just a story, but a feeling—the wonder that comes when we face something that challenges our understanding. Maybe that’s what makes art and the universe alike: both invite us to keep looking, wondering, and feeling amazed.
Crear esta obra fue como revivir un recuerdo lleno de preguntas sin respuesta. Me recordó cómo el arte puede transformar la confusión en significado y el misterio en belleza. El Light Healer dejó de ser solo un personaje de @holozing para convertirse en un reflejo de mi propia curiosidad y fascinación por lo desconocido.
Con esta pieza quise compartir no solo una historia, sino una emoción: la maravilla que sentimos al enfrentarnos a algo que desafía nuestra comprensión. Tal vez eso sea lo que hace al arte y al universo tan similares: ambos nos invitan a seguir observando, preguntando y maravillándonos.
