Hello everyone! I’m Lorentm, a digital artist who loves creating fantasy-inspired illustrations filled with storytelling and emotion. Today, I’m very happy to welcome you to my art blog and share my latest piece inspired by one of the beloved characters from @holozing. Being part of this creative community has been such a joy, and I’m thrilled to present my entry for day 27 of Zingtober 2025.
The keyword for this day is Onion, and as soon as I read it, I immediately thought of that iconic moment from the movie Shrek, when Shrek explains to Donkey that ogres are like onions because they have layers. That scene made me laugh so much as a child, and now it has become a nostalgic spark for my artwork.
For this drawing, I decided to take the male forest healer and transform him completely into an ogre — his clothing, his build, and his attitude reflect that transformation — while still keeping his recognizable features and gentle essence. He’s like the forest healer reborn in Shrek’s world! Alongside him is Xolo, looking at him with a mix of curiosity and confusion, just like Donkey would.

Hoy estoy muy feliz de darles la bienvenida a mi blog de arte y compartir mi nueva obra inspirada en uno de los queridos personajes de @holozing. Ser parte de esta comunidad creativa ha sido una gran alegría, y estoy emocionada de presentar mi participación para el día 27 del Zingtober 2025.
La palabra clave de este día es Onion, y en cuanto la leí, me vino a la mente ese momento icónico de la película Shrek, cuando Shrek le explica a Burro que los ogros son como cebollas porque tienen capas. Esa escena siempre me hizo reír y me trajo un toque de nostalgia que inspiró directamente mi obra.
Para este dibujo decidí tomar al sanador del bosque masculino y transformarlo completamente en un ogro: su ropa, su complexión y su actitud reflejan esa transformación, aunque conserva los rasgos y la esencia amable del personaje original. ¡Es como si el sanador hubiera renacido en el mundo de Shrek! A su lado está Xolo, mirándolo con una mezcla de curiosidad y confusión, justo como lo haría Burro.
También quiero agradecer a @acidyo y a @holozing por el apoyo constante a mis obras. Ser parte de esta comunidad me motiva cada día a seguir explorando mi imaginación y compartir mi arte con todos ustedes.
The scene portrays the ogre version of the forest healer holding an onion while explaining something passionately to Xolo. His clothes are now those of an ogre — rough fabric, simple vest, and a belt around his waist. His ears are slightly pointed, his expression intense, and his posture confident yet comical. You can still recognize the forest healer beneath it all, but now he carries that unmistakable Shrek energy.
Xolo stands beside him with wide eyes, as if trying to understand this strange lecture about onions. The atmosphere is lighthearted, and the interaction between them gives a humorous and cinematic feel to the illustration. In the background, a field of tall sunflowers fades softly into the sky, adding warmth and contrast to the grayscale palette.
La escena muestra la versión ogro del sanador del bosque sosteniendo una cebolla mientras le explica algo con mucha pasión a Xolo. Su vestimenta es la de un ogro: telas toscas, un chaleco sencillo y un cinturón que refuerza su aspecto rústico. Sus orejas son un poco puntiagudas, su expresión es intensa y su postura transmite confianza, aunque con un toque cómico. Aun así, debajo de esa apariencia, se reconocen los rasgos del sanador original, pero con toda la energía de Shrek.
Xolo está a su lado, con los ojos muy abiertos, tratando de comprender esta extraña lección sobre cebollas. La atmósfera es divertida, y la interacción entre ellos da a la ilustración un aire cinematográfico y lleno de humor. Al fondo, un campo de altos girasoles se difumina suavemente hacia el cielo, aportando calidez y equilibrio a la paleta en escala de grises.
Process / Proceso
I began the process with a sketch to establish the scene and character interaction. From the start, I knew I wanted the healer’s pose to be expressive and full of life, as if he were delivering Shrek’s famous line. The sketch allowed me to define the composition and capture that spark between both characters.
Next, I worked on the clean line art, refining shapes and details to make each gesture clear. I paid special attention to the healer’s facial expression — the furrowed eyebrows, the open mouth mid-speech — and to Xolo’s curious gaze. This stage helped me lock in the personality of each one.
When it came to coloring, I chose to keep the artwork in monochrome. The grayscale palette helped me create a nostalgic tone that matches both the humor of the scene and the fantasy world of @holozing. Without color distractions, the focus remained on light, texture, and expression.
Then I added shadows to build volume and depth. This part is where the characters start to feel real — the folds of the ogre’s clothes, the roundness of the onion, and the soft texture of Xolo’s fur began to take shape.
Afterward, I worked on the highlights, adding small touches of brightness to emphasize the light source and guide the viewer’s eyes. The reflections on the onion and the glow on the characters’ faces bring life and warmth to the illustration.
Finally, I completed the background with soft, blurred shapes of sunflowers under a cloudy sky. It creates a peaceful countryside atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with the comical intensity of the characters’ exchange.
Comencé el proceso con un boceto para establecer la escena y la interacción entre los personajes. Desde el principio supe que quería que la pose del sanador fuera expresiva y llena de vida, como si estuviera diciendo la famosa frase de Shrek. El boceto me ayudó a definir la composición y a capturar la chispa entre ambos personajes.
Luego trabajé en el delineado limpio, refinando las formas y detalles para que cada gesto quedara bien definido. Presté especial atención a la expresión facial del sanador — las cejas fruncidas, la boca abierta mientras habla — y a la mirada curiosa de Xolo. Esta etapa fue clave para darles personalidad.
En la fase de color decidí mantener la ilustración en monocromo. La paleta en escala de grises me permitió crear un tono nostálgico que combina con el humor de la escena y el mundo de fantasía de @holozing. Al no haber distracciones de color, pude centrarme más en la luz, la textura y la expresión.
Después añadí las sombras para dar volumen y profundidad. Esta parte es donde los personajes empiezan a sentirse reales: los pliegues de la ropa del ogro, la redondez de la cebolla y la suavidad del pelaje de Xolo comenzaron a cobrar vida.
Más tarde trabajé los brillos, añadiendo pequeños toques de luz para resaltar la fuente luminosa y guiar la mirada del espectador. Los reflejos en la cebolla y el brillo en los rostros aportan calidez y realismo a la escena.
Finalmente, completé el fondo con formas suaves y difuminadas de girasoles bajo un cielo nublado. Este ambiente campestre aporta calma y contrasta de manera encantadora con la intensidad cómica de los personajes.

Creating this piece was a wonderful and amusing experience. Turning the forest healer into an ogre was not only a visual transformation but also a playful reinterpretation of a beloved character. It reminded me that art can merge universes, humor, and emotion all at once.

Crear esta obra fue una experiencia maravillosa y divertida. Transformar al sanador del bosque en un ogro no solo fue un cambio visual, sino también una reinterpretación juguetona de un personaje muy querido. Me recordó que el arte puede unir universos, humor y emoción en una sola imagen.
