Hello everyone! I’m Lorentm, a digital artist passionate about storytelling through colors and light. I’m thrilled to welcome you all to my blog and to share a special piece I created for the amazing @holozing community. This artwork is part of this year’s Zingtober challenge, and the prompt for day five is “Deer.”
Creating this illustration was such a heartfelt experience. I chose to portray Naara, a delicate and mystical creature that embodies grace and curiosity. As I worked on her expression, I imagined her gazing at the full moon with a sense of wonder, her eyes filled with quiet emotion and the soft breath of night escaping her lips.
Naara has always felt like a being connected to nature’s spirit—a gentle guardian of the forest who walks between moonlight and dreams. I wanted to capture her in a moment of reflection, surrounded by a serene atmosphere that feels both peaceful and slightly melancholic.
I want to take a moment to thank @acidyo and @holozing for continuously supporting my work and inspiring artists like me to grow and share our creations with such a warm and creative community.

Me emociona darles la bienvenida a mi blog y compartir con ustedes una obra especial que realicé para la increíble comunidad de @holozing. Esta ilustración forma parte del Zingtober de este año, y la palabra clave del quinto día es “Deer”.
Crear esta ilustración fue una experiencia muy significativa para mí. Elegí representar a Naara, una criatura delicada y mística que encarna la gracia y la curiosidad. Mientras trabajaba en su expresión, la imaginé mirando hacia la luna llena con un aire de asombro, sus ojos reflejando una emoción tranquila y su aliento escapando suavemente en la noche.
Naara siempre me ha parecido un ser conectado al espíritu de la naturaleza, una guardiana del bosque que camina entre la luz de la luna y los sueños. Quise capturarla en un instante de reflexión, rodeada de una atmósfera serena que transmite paz y un toque de melancolía.
Quiero aprovechar para agradecer a @acidyo y a @holozing por apoyar continuamente mis obras e inspirar a artistas como yo a crecer y compartir nuestras creaciones con una comunidad tan cálida y creativa.
Naara stands beneath the glow of a full moon, her delicate antlers reaching upward as if drawing in the light. Her fur is soft and gently shaded, giving her a warm, almost ethereal presence. The small flowers that adorn her body seem to bloom from her connection with nature, representing life and renewal even under the night sky. Her big expressive eyes carry a gentle sadness, making her appear both fragile and strong.
The scene takes place in a quiet meadow under a starlit sky. The grass sways gently around her hooves, and small clouds of breath float from her muzzle, showing the crispness of the night air. The entire moment feels calm, as if time has slowed down for her to appreciate the moon’s radiance. It’s a serene mix of fantasy and tenderness that reflects the gentle soul of Naara.
Naara se encuentra bajo el resplandor de una luna llena, con sus delicadas astas extendiéndose hacia el cielo como si quisieran atrapar la luz. Su pelaje es suave y sombreado con sutileza, dándole una presencia cálida y casi etérea. Las pequeñas flores que adornan su cuerpo parecen florecer de su conexión con la naturaleza, representando la vida y la renovación incluso bajo el cielo nocturno. Sus grandes ojos expresivos reflejan una dulce tristeza, haciéndola parecer frágil y fuerte al mismo tiempo.
La escena tiene lugar en un prado silencioso bajo un cielo estrellado. La hierba se mece suavemente alrededor de sus pezuñas, y pequeñas nubes de aliento flotan desde su hocico, mostrando la frescura del aire nocturno. Todo el momento se siente tranquilo, como si el tiempo se hubiera detenido para que ella pudiera admirar el resplandor de la luna. Es una mezcla serena de fantasía y ternura que refleja el alma apacible de Naara.
Process / Proceso
I started the piece with a rough sketch to define Naara’s pose and the general composition. I wanted to ensure her stance conveyed gentleness and wonder, with her gaze naturally leading toward the moon. At this stage, I played with shapes and proportions until I captured that delicate and emotional look I was aiming for.
Once I had the sketch ready, I moved on to the line art. This part required precision and patience, especially with her antlers and the floral details. Clean, flowing lines helped give Naara’s form a sense of softness and movement, setting the stage for the rest of the illustration.
Next came the coloring stage, where I focused on building her tones using a harmonious palette. Even though the final artwork is monochromatic, I used different shades of gray to represent depth, warmth, and balance. Each layer of color added life to her fur and accentuated the softness of her expression.
Then I worked on the shadows, carefully blending them to enhance the three-dimensionality of the figure. The lighting from the moon was my main guide, creating subtle contrasts that made Naara stand out beautifully against the background.
Adding the highlights was one of my favorite parts. The tiny glimmers on her eyes, fur, and antlers brought her to life. The light made her look dreamy, as if she were part of the moonlight itself.
Finally, I painted the background, focusing on the glowing moon and the surrounding stars. The grass and floating breath clouds completed the scene, giving the composition depth and atmosphere. When I stepped back to look at the finished piece, I felt like Naara was truly breathing within her little world.
Comencé la obra con un boceto inicial para definir la pose de Naara y la composición general. Quería que su postura transmitiera dulzura y asombro, con una mirada que naturalmente se dirigiera hacia la luna. En esta etapa jugué con las formas y proporciones hasta capturar esa expresión delicada y emocional que buscaba.
Una vez listo el boceto, pasé al delineado. Esta parte requirió precisión y paciencia, especialmente con sus astas y los detalles florales. Las líneas limpias y fluidas ayudaron a darle a Naara una sensación de suavidad y movimiento, preparando el terreno para el resto de la ilustración.
Luego llegó la etapa del color, donde me concentré en construir los tonos usando una paleta armoniosa. Aunque la obra final es monocromática, utilicé diferentes matices de gris para representar profundidad, calidez y equilibrio. Cada capa de color aportó vida a su pelaje y acentuó la ternura de su expresión.
Después trabajé en las sombras, difuminándolas con cuidado para realzar la tridimensionalidad de la figura. La luz proveniente de la luna fue mi principal guía, creando contrastes sutiles que hicieron resaltar a Naara de manera hermosa sobre el fondo.
Agregar los brillos fue una de mis partes favoritas. Los pequeños destellos en sus ojos, pelaje y astas le dieron vida. La luz la hizo parecer soñadora, como si formara parte de la propia luz lunar.
Finalmente, pinté el fondo, concentrándome en la luna brillante y las estrellas que la rodean. La hierba y las nubes de aliento flotante completaron la escena, dándole profundidad y atmósfera a la composición. Cuando me detuve a observar la pieza terminada, sentí que Naara realmente respiraba dentro de su pequeño mundo.

Creating Naara for this Zingtober prompt was a deeply calming experience. I felt connected not only to the character but also to the peaceful feeling of the scene itself. It reminded me how magical digital art can be when emotion meets imagination.

Crear a Naara para este reto de Zingtober fue una experiencia profundamente tranquila. Me sentí conectada no solo con el personaje, sino también con la paz que transmite la escena. Me recordó lo mágico que puede ser el arte digital cuando la emoción se une con la imaginación.

The tools I used for the drawing were the following:
- Android tablet.
- Capacitive pen (Stylus).
- Ibis Paint X program.
- Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
