Hello everyone! My name is Lorentm, and I’m thrilled to welcome you back to my art blog. Today I want to share with you my latest digital artwork, inspired by one of the characters from the wonderful @holozing community. I’m participating in this year’s Inktober event organized by Holozing, called Zingtober, and I’m excited to present my piece for day six, where the keyword is “Pierce.”
The character I chose to illustrate is the female Ocean Healer, a figure who has always fascinated me with her magical essence and serene presence. She is a being who represents the connection between water and life, and I felt she was a perfect choice for a prompt like this one.
Creating this artwork filled me with a mix of emotions, from nervousness at first—since I wanted to capture her perfectly—to joy and pride once I saw how the idea was coming together. I imagined her in a moment of vulnerability, about to receive an ear piercing, something simple yet symbolic that highlights both her strength and her sensitivity.
I’d like to take a moment to thank @acidyo and @holozing for continuously supporting my work and motivating me to keep growing as an artist. Their initiatives and community spirit inspire me to keep exploring new creative paths and to share these experiences with all of you.
¡Hola a todos! Mi nombre es Lorentm y estoy muy emocionada de darles la bienvenida nuevamente a mi blog de arte. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi más reciente obra digital, inspirada en uno de los personajes de la maravillosa comunidad de @holozing. Estoy participando en el Inktober de este año organizado por Holozing, llamado Zingtober, y me alegra presentarles mi pieza para el sexto día, cuya palabra clave es “Pierce”.
El personaje que elegí ilustrar es la female Ocean Healer, una figura que siempre me ha cautivado por su esencia mágica y su presencia serena. Ella representa la conexión entre el agua y la vida, y sentí que era la elección perfecta para un reto como este.
Crear esta obra me llenó de una mezcla de emociones, desde los nervios al inicio —porque quería retratarla de manera perfecta— hasta la alegría y orgullo al ver cómo la idea iba tomando forma. La imaginé en un momento de vulnerabilidad, a punto de recibir un piercing en la oreja, un gesto sencillo pero simbólico que resalta tanto su fortaleza como su sensibilidad.
Quiero aprovechar este espacio para agradecer a @acidyo y @holozing por apoyar continuamente mis obras y motivarme a seguir creciendo como artista. Sus iniciativas y el espíritu de comunidad me inspiran a seguir explorando nuevos caminos creativos y a compartir estas experiencias con todos ustedes.
The female Ocean Healer is depicted as a young woman with a gentle yet brave expression, sitting nervously in a chair while preparing to get her ear pierced. Her short, flowing hair frames her face, adding softness to her look, while her wide eyes reflect both worry and determination. She wears a dark jacket with a high-neck shirt, decorated with a luminous ocean-inspired emblem on her chest, symbolizing her healing powers connected to the sea.
Every detail of her attire and accessories adds to her identity: the gloves she clasps against her chest show her anxious anticipation, and the futuristic piercing gun in the scene highlights the moment of transformation. Behind her, the framed posters and bottles on the shelf place the scene inside a tattoo or piercing studio, giving it a contemporary and urban atmosphere. This setting contrasts beautifully with the magical essence of the character, making her appear both mystical and relatable.
La female Ocean Healer aparece retratada como una joven con una expresión dulce pero valiente, sentada con nerviosismo en una silla mientras se prepara para hacerse un piercing en la oreja. Su cabello corto y fluido enmarca su rostro, aportando suavidad a su aspecto, mientras que sus grandes ojos reflejan tanto preocupación como determinación. Viste una chaqueta oscura con una camiseta de cuello alto, decorada con un emblema luminoso inspirado en el océano en su pecho, símbolo de sus poderes de sanación conectados con el mar.
Cada detalle de su vestimenta y accesorios refuerza su identidad: los guantes que mantiene entrelazados contra su pecho reflejan su ansiedad contenida, y la pistola futurista para piercings en la escena marca ese instante de transformación. A su alrededor, los cuadros enmarcados y las botellas en la estantería sitúan la escena en un estudio de tatuajes o perforaciones, aportando un aire contemporáneo y urbano. Este entorno contrasta bellamente con la esencia mágica del personaje, haciéndola parecer tanto mística como cercana.
Process / Proceso
I began the creation with a loose sketch, where I established the composition, the pose, and the main expressions of the character. At this stage, I wanted to capture the balance between nervousness and courage in her face, as that was the emotional core of the illustration.
Empecé la creación con un boceto suelto, donde establecí la composición, la pose y las expresiones principales del personaje. En esta etapa quería captar el equilibrio entre el nerviosismo y la valentía en su rostro, pues esa era la esencia emocional de la ilustración.
The next stage was the line art, where I carefully defined the outlines. This step required patience because it is where the drawing starts to feel more structured and polished. Clean, confident lines gave the character her distinctive anime-inspired look.
La siguiente etapa fue el delineado, donde definí cuidadosamente los contornos. Este paso requirió paciencia porque es aquí donde el dibujo comienza a sentirse más estructurado y pulido. Las líneas limpias y seguras le dieron al personaje su aspecto distintivo de inspiración anime.
After that, I moved on to coloring. Even though the artwork is presented in grayscale, I still treated each area with the attention I would give to a full-color piece. This meant creating contrast and depth through different tonal values, making the image visually engaging.
Después pasé al coloreado. Aunque la obra se presenta en escala de grises, traté cada área con la misma atención que le daría a una pieza a todo color. Esto implicó crear contrastes y profundidad a través de distintos valores tonales, logrando que la imagen resultara visualmente atractiva.
Adding shadows was the next step, which gave the drawing dimension and life. The shading emphasized the folds of the clothing, the strands of her hair, and the subtle curves of her face, highlighting her anxious but determined expression.
Luego incorporé las sombras, lo que aportó dimensión y vida al dibujo. El sombreado resaltó los pliegues de la ropa, los mechones de su cabello y las curvas sutiles de su rostro, enfatizando su expresión ansiosa pero decidida.
The highlights came next, bringing light into the scene. These touches of brightness on her eyes, hair, and accessories added a sense of realism and vibrancy, making the Ocean Healer appear almost ready to step out of the canvas.
Después añadí los brillos, que trajeron luz a la escena. Estos toques luminosos en sus ojos, cabello y accesorios aportaron una sensación de realismo y vitalidad, haciendo que la Ocean Healer pareciera casi lista para salir del lienzo.
Finally, I completed the background. The studio environment, with its posters and tools, gave context to the story and enhanced the emotional weight of the moment. This setting anchored the character in a recognizable place, while allowing her magical essence to shine through the contrast.
Finalmente, completé el fondo. El ambiente del estudio, con sus cuadros y herramientas, le dio contexto a la historia y realzó el peso emocional del momento. Este entorno ancló al personaje en un lugar reconocible, al tiempo que permitió que su esencia mágica destacara gracias al contraste.

This artwork was a very special experience for me because it combined the magical aura of the Ocean Healer with a very human, everyday moment. It reminded me that even the most mystical characters can have small, intimate experiences that reveal their vulnerability.
Esta obra fue una experiencia muy especial para mí porque combinó el aura mágica de la Ocean Healer con un momento muy humano y cotidiano. Me recordó que incluso los personajes más místicos pueden tener pequeñas experiencias íntimas que revelan su vulnerabilidad.
I truly enjoyed creating this piece for Zingtober and I feel grateful to be part of this vibrant community. Once again, thank you to @acidyo and @holozing for giving me the motivation to keep creating and sharing my art. The tools I used for the drawing were the following:
- Android tablet.
- Capacitive pen (Stylus).
- Ibis Paint X program.
- Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
