When I saw today’s prompt for Zingtober, “Reckless,” I immediately imagined one of my favorite characters from @holozing: the Male Forest Healer. Usually calm and composed, he’s known for his soothing aura and gentle heart, but I wanted to show a completely different side of him — wild, daring, and full of energy. This contrast felt like the perfect way to explore his spirit in a new light.
Cuando vi la palabra clave de hoy para el Zingtober, “Reckless”, inmediatamente imaginé a uno de mis personajes favoritos de @holozing: el Sanador del Bosque. Usualmente es tranquilo y sereno, conocido por su aura curativa y su corazón noble, pero quise mostrar un lado totalmente diferente de él: salvaje, atrevido y lleno de energía. Este contraste me pareció la manera perfecta de explorar su espíritu desde otra perspectiva.
Working on this artwork felt like capturing a moment where the healer breaks free from his usual calm and embraces chaos for once. It’s that spark of recklessness that reminds us that even the most serene souls can have wild moments of passion and freedom.
Trabajar en este arte fue como capturar un momento en el que el sanador se libera de su calma habitual y abraza el caos por una vez. Es esa chispa de imprudencia la que nos recuerda que incluso las almas más serenas pueden tener momentos salvajes de pasión y libertad.
I wanted the piece to feel alive, fast, and fearless — like he’s about to take on the world, one skateboard trick at a time. The movement, expression, and wind all came together to tell a story of courage and spontaneity.
Quise que la ilustración se sintiera viva, rápida y sin miedo, como si estuviera a punto de conquistar el mundo con cada truco de skate. El movimiento, la expresión y el viento se unieron para contar una historia de valentía y espontaneidad.
Creating this drawing made me feel inspired and challenged at the same time. It’s a tribute to that part of us that dares to take risks, even when the world expects calmness and control.
Crear este dibujo me hizo sentir inspirada y desafiada al mismo tiempo. Es un tributo a esa parte de nosotras que se atreve a tomar riesgos, incluso cuando el mundo espera calma y control.
In this illustration, the Male Forest Healer is not in his usual forest environment. Instead, he’s skating through a half-pipe, capturing the raw thrill of motion and recklessness. His clothes are modern — a loose jacket, rolled-up pants, and high sneakers that give him a youthful, rebellious vibe. His hair, still wild and luminous, reflects the energy of someone fully alive in the moment.
En esta ilustración, el Sanador del Bosque no se encuentra en su entorno natural. En lugar de eso, está patinando en una rampa, capturando la emoción pura del movimiento y la imprudencia. Su vestimenta es moderna: una chaqueta suelta, pantalones doblados y zapatillas altas que le dan un aire juvenil y rebelde. Su cabello, aún salvaje y luminoso, refleja la energía de alguien que vive el momento con intensidad.
The scene itself is dynamic — the sky opens wide, clouds fade into light, and the viewer can almost feel the wind rushing past. His determined gaze and outstretched hand make it seem like he’s reaching for something beyond the frame, symbolizing that restless drive to go further, to take one more leap.
La escena es completamente dinámica: el cielo se abre, las nubes se desvanecen en la luz y el espectador casi puede sentir el viento al pasar. Su mirada decidida y su mano extendida hacen parecer que intenta alcanzar algo más allá del marco, simbolizando ese impulso inquieto de ir más lejos, de dar un salto más.
Process / Proceso
The process began with a loose sketch, focusing on motion and posture. I wanted to capture that perfect moment of balance where adrenaline meets control — the instant just before the trick lands. The sketch was rough but full of energy, setting the tone for the rest of the piece.
El proceso comenzó con un boceto suelto, concentrándome en el movimiento y la postura. Quise capturar ese instante perfecto de equilibrio donde la adrenalina se encuentra con el control, justo antes de aterrizar el truco. El boceto fue simple pero lleno de energía, y marcó el tono para el resto de la obra.
Then came the linework. I refined every curve and fold, giving clarity to the form while keeping the sense of motion alive. Clean lines helped emphasize the expression and body dynamics, making the figure pop out vividly against the background.
Después llegó el delineado. Refiné cada curva y pliegue, dando claridad a la forma pero manteniendo la sensación de movimiento. Las líneas limpias ayudaron a resaltar la expresión y la dinámica corporal, haciendo que la figura destacara con fuerza sobre el fondo.
Coloring was a delicate balance — even though this piece follows the inktober’s monochrome theme, I focused on contrasts and gradients to create depth. I used varying shades of gray to give life and weight to each part of the drawing.
El coloreado fue un equilibrio delicado; aunque esta pieza sigue el tema monocromático de Inktober, me concentré en los contrastes y degradados para crear profundidad. Utilicé diferentes tonos de gris para dar vida y peso a cada parte del dibujo.
Once the base tones were set, I moved to the shadows. This stage gave strength to the scene, adding realism to the movement and helping define the direction of light and energy within the piece.
Una vez establecidas las tonalidades base, pasé a las sombras. Esta etapa le dio fuerza a la escena, aportando realismo al movimiento y ayudando a definir la dirección de la luz y la energía dentro de la obra.
The highlights followed — small but vital touches that brought the character to life. Light on his hair, reflections on the skateboard, and the subtle shine in his eyes made all the difference.
Luego vinieron los brillos: pequeños pero esenciales toques que dieron vida al personaje. La luz en su cabello, los reflejos en la patineta y el brillo sutil en sus ojos marcaron toda la diferencia.
Finally, I worked on the background. The skate ramp, the cloudy sky, and the sense of motion all came together to complete the feeling of recklessness and freedom that defined this piece from the start.
Finalmente, trabajé el fondo. La rampa de skate, el cielo nublado y la sensación de movimiento se unieron para completar la atmósfera de imprudencia y libertad que definió esta obra desde el inicio.

This artwork was a joy to create. I felt free, just like the character, taking creative risks and letting intuition guide my strokes. “Reckless” turned out to be not only a theme but also a mindset while working on this piece.
Este arte fue una alegría de crear. Me sentí libre, igual que el personaje, tomando riesgos creativos y dejando que la intuición guiara mis trazos. “Reckless” resultó ser no solo un tema, sino también una forma de pensar durante el proceso.
Every Inktober piece teaches me something new, and this one reminded me how fun it is to let go of perfection and simply enjoy the ride.
