The word is not a typical word that I use every day. I only knew of the word because I play chess, haha! What I understand about the word, well, at least in playing chess, is that a blunder means that you committed a mistake out of not thinking it through due to being impulsive, running out of time, or being pushed by emotions. This is Ocean Healer in front of a computer, maybe working on to something. And then, she accidentaly pressed the wrong button, and now, there is a warning sign on the screen! Out of not so thoroughly reading the warnings, she made a blunder by clicking the wrong button...

Today is day 16 of inktober with the prompt 'blunder'. my drawing theme is that a healer caused a blunder by leaving miu unattended because miu is basically a cat, this is the most likely scenario with this prompt also funny thing is, i myself made a blunder with this drawing. i didn't do a proper sketch and lineart when making this and this drawing took way longer than it should have...

Before I begin, I know there are better ways to work with these brushes and tools, and even more so if it's for a contest, it's risky for me to start experimenting. But sometimes, you you just roll the dice. Now that I think about it, I feel like it would have been funnier if he had fallen face first into the cake. Anyway, I did the line art with a marker brush that comes with the program by default. With the dry ink brush, I actually tried using the different ones I have, but mostly this one. I did the base tone and then applied another coat for more shade...

Today's theme for the Zingtober is Ragged. Personally, the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word "Ragged" is a rag or some old and patched-up piece of clothing. Now I didn't really want to go straight to the surface meaning of the word, but instead searched for other meanings of the word, and among them I saw that it could be used to define feelings as well, when someone is torn and not in good condition emotionally, too. So I picked that meaning and drew the Forest Healer in a room, sobbing over what seems to be troubling her greatly...

This time, I'm sharing the step-by-step instructions for making a cute door hanger inspired by the ocean healer. Lately, I've been more inspired by making characters, as I think it's super cute to make them with more rounded faces, but obviously without neglecting the important details or colors of the characters so they don't lose their essence or context. The first thing I did was draw the design I wanted for the character on a white sheet of paper. In this case, I wanted her with her eyes closed and a small smile, as I was thinking of making this hanger for a child's room. That's why I thought it...

I began the piece with a rough digital sketch, focusing on the composition and pose. I wanted to capture her posture — confident, yet full of calm — to embody the balance between power and serenity. Then came the line art, which I drew with fine, steady strokes to define her features and the texture of the torn gown. The lines became an essential part of the aesthetic since, in monochrome art, every stroke adds weight to the overall emotion...

I started playing with the characters' dynamic poses; I wanted it to look alive, to feel as if Fire Wolf spills the drinks because of his uncontainable energy, that desperate eagerness he has to do everything. Fal's design was always well-defined, but I had to refine Fire Wolf layer by layer, deciding that he had to follow the design I had already created for him. For Fire Wolf, it's all about that super sweet face and a very cute smile that make him utterly adorable...

Today’s protagonist is Chirple, a small and beautiful parrot with vibrant colors. In the hollow trunk of a tree, he decided to build his nest to lay eggs that will become future offspring. I started with a quick sketch and limited my color palette to black and white, using tones from the original design but with the contrast lowered to a minimum. I created the entire drawing in Photoshop, from sketch to coloring. This program makes layer management much easier, so I added small shadow and light effects to create good volume. I also used some texture brushes for the feathers, the tree trunk, and the background. The hardest...

The theme for today is Blunder. As discussed before, I try to prioritize drawing the drawing around the other meanings of the theme, other than the most prominent ones. In this case, the first thought that comes to mind is the mistake you make in chess, but I dismissed the idea and just focused on the "mistake" meaning of it. So I drew Zingu spilling a bowl of some liquid (some healing elixir that the Ocean Healer had given him) and is crying over it...

For this idea, I did the original design in pencil and then modified it almost completely in the computer programme. I still feel more comfortable with pencil and paper, but with this drawing I changed the type of brush a little and it helped me when drawing (I think it's psychological, I don't know, I think for me it has to look like graphite for me to like the sketch). Anyway, after all that, I started drawing directly with the tones I wanted until I achieved a decent result. At some point, I thought it would...
