For this piece I went back on the usual memory lane and tried drawing one of the characters that I hadn't drawn in ages. I did this thing where I tried to draw the character with a monotone combination of colors and then added the contrasting color, which was her green clothes in thiss case and I think it doess have a nice harmony...

I tried to create a pose that conveys a certain movement of the character jumping out of the water. I also thought about highlighting the character much more with a very large sun in the background. Once the idea was clear, we made the sketch and corrected certain details, such as the size of the character. Finally, we did the line art with the same brush as the previous drawing...

I wanted to create a portrait that felt simple and honest, without making too many drastic adjustments. It didn’t need heavy edits or extreme changes, but it still had to look right.
