The Lions Silhouette - my entry
It’s been a very grey week with rain pouring all day everyday and winds gusting around 50 kilometres an hour so we have had no choice but to watch the clouds.
It made me dig through my albums for a brighter, sunnier day when we took a drive along the coast on our Atlantic Sea Board and I managed to get these shots of the clouds over Lions Head.
Lions Head is a peak that sits next to Table Mountain and Signal Hill forms the back of the lion.
This one is from my hike on Table Mountain last Saturday where you can more clearly see Lions Head and Signal hill in the background. There was thick cloud cover on that day and it rained soon after this as I made my way down the mountain.
We had some terrible fires on these mountain slopes in the last year. The burnt trees bear witness to how big the flames were and the devastation that was left behind. Yet, today the slopes are green and beautiful, streaked with black trunks that add a new texture to the picture.
Thanks to @tobetada for being so consistent in hosting this awesome competition. It’s one of the reasons I keep coming back and entering.

See ya!
So glad I could introduce you to something new! Ha ha! I found love the clouds early on and have posted every couple weeks or so. Cape Town has so many beautiful and changing clouds. They also appreciate a little bit of content and not just a photo, although some folk just post a photo. I don’t think that’s cool.
Hey! Yesterday got busy but I managed another hike post that I had forgotten to post!
Mushy hey? I need to get back into reading novels now that the weathers terrible but they’re mostly action / political thrillers. 😳 If they don’t keep me reading and I get bored, I move on. I’m half way through a pretty decent one but I’ve just been too distracted too read. Maybe this evening by the fire…
