To talk about Cerberus we must move to Greek mythology, which has influenced the culture, art and literature of civilization and is still part of the heritage and language of the West.
Para hablar de Cerbero hay que trasladarse a la mitología griega esta acido una influencia sobre la cultura, el arte y la literatura de la civilización y sigue siendo parte del patrimonio y lenguaje occidental.
Greek mythology are sets of myths and legends that deal with the origin and life of the gods (Olympians) and heroes, it describes the origin and creation of the world, the Titans, the giants and the meaning of their own cults and ritual practices, the only sources are literature, such as the epic poems of the Iliad and the Odyssey, the oldest known of Homer. La mitología Griega son conjuntos de mitos y leyendas que tratan el origen y vida de los dioses (olímpicos) y héroes, en ella se describe el origen y la creación del mundo, de los titanes, de los gigantes y el significado de sus propios cultos y prácticas rituales, las únicas fuentes son la literatura, como los poemas épicos de la Ilíada y la Odisea más antiguas conocidas de Homero. Podríamos decir es prácticamente una biblia de los antiguas griegos.

Que a su vez se traducen, en el mismo orden: cabeza izquierda, tercera cabeza y cabeza derecha, con una serpiente en lugar de cola.

Cerbero resguardaba la puerta del reino de Hades (el inframundo griego) y aseguraba que los muertos no salieran y que los vivos no pudieran entrar. Existen varias versiones de Cerbero, Heracles simplemente le pide permiso al dios Hades, y este accede con la condición de que Heracles no haga daño al perro. Pero en otras versiones, Heracles dispara una flecha a Hades. Tras esto, en algunas versiones Heracles lucha contra el perro y lo arrastra fuera del Hades. En otras, Heracles trata con amabilidad al fiero perro, y este, al ser tratado así por primera vez, lo acompaña afuera dócilmente.
