Cryowar - A blockchain game that might actually be fun

Cryowar is an unreal engine based game on the Solana network. It's a game where people battle each other in real time in a 3d arena world. What I find interesting is that it's a mixture of science fiction and the medieval era. Players in the game compete for resources, land and even world domination.

People that rule over a world or realm get a lot of rewards for holding that power, sort of like real life. It's uncertain whether a realm is more valuable than any other realm, but I'm guessin there will be a disparity.

Players will be able to purchase, stake, or win rewards to increase their player stats. It sounds like a typical game, but what makes it different?

It's the first blockchain game I've seen that looks modern and actually looks fun. It's not pay to win (they say) and you only rank up from your skill level that you earn from playing. It's a top down game similar to Gauntlet, Diablo, Torchlight etc, and will also be cross-platform.

I write about Solana a lot because they provide fast and free transactions, much like the hive network. The network is necessary to start producing real time action games that instantly transfer an asset to someone else after a death or conclusion of a match. It appears this game will incorporate a lot of that into Cryowar.

The game is set up to have different matches that last less than five minutes. This is basically the same timeframe of every other multiplayer match game.

There are different classes that follow basically the standard deathmatch game. If you want high defense, you'll be slower. Long range will be less powerful, high damage dealers will have less health etc.

My biggest gripe with crypto games is that they just aren't fun and they just aren't modern. It feels like I'm playing regular nintendo or at best super nintendo games. Splinterlands and Axie Infinity can both be played on a Gameboy. I know a lot of people have fun playing Splinterlands, but if it wasn't infused with crypto, it would have fizzled out years ago. I know it's why I still play every day.

Cryowar $cwar token has already launched with a market cap of $75 million and a price of around $3 as of this article date. The game has yet to be released.

If you're interested in buying the currency, which has been increasing lately, it's available
on gate.io, Kucoin and some other lesser known exchanges.
