Tengo el gusto de poder compartir con ustedes mi visión sobre la temática del "Ojo por Ojo". Esa forma en la que muchos de nosotros muchas veces devolvemos el daño que nos han causado a la otra persona.

I am pleased to share with you my thoughts on the topic of "an eye for an eye." This is the way in which many of us often repay the harm that has been done to us by another person.
Principalmente me dedique a buscar el "origen de la frase del ojo pór ojo". Según algunas citas biográficas el ojo por ojo deriva de civilizaciones muy antiguas como la mesopotámica como el Código de Hammurabi y también en los hebreos esta la Ley del Talión en el Antiguo Testamento de la Biblia, en el libro del Éxodo.
I mainly focused on finding the "origin of the phrase 'an eye for an eye.'" According to some biographical references, an eye for an eye derives from very ancient civilizations such as Mesopotamia, as in the Code of Hammurabi, and also from the Hebrews in the Law of Retaliation in the Old Testament of the Bible, in the book of Exodus.

Jesús allí desafía muchos dogmas religiosos impuestos como ley en esa época, uno de los motivos por los cuales fue rechazado fueron impulsados por querer cambiar esas doctrinas. Asi que ambas visiones son totalmente opuestas, tal vez encontrar un punto medio entre ambos estilos de vida es lo que hemos construido actualmente con las leyes, los juzgados, los derechos humanos y los distintos entes legislativos que buscan un equilibrio entre castigar los daños de una forma "razonable y justa"
Jesus challenged many religious dogmas imposed as law at that time, and one of the reasons he was rejected was because he wanted to change those doctrines. So both views are totally opposite. Perhaps finding a middle ground between both lifestyles is what we have currently built with laws, courts, human rights, and various legislative bodies that seek a balance between punishing harm in a "reasonable and fair" way.
Particularmente no creo en el ojo por ojo en el sentido drástico de actuar bajo el dominio de la rabia y la venganza, sin embargo pienso que es necesario juzgar bajo las leyes y castigar al infractor. Soy una de las primeras personas que rechaza la violencia, y soy una de las primeras personas en denunciar la violencia también. Lastimosamente mi país a pesar de gozar de una naturaleza envidiable, de paraísos tropicales y pueblos mágicos, sigue siendo un país de mucha violencia y donde el ojo por ojo aun se sigue viendo en las calles y hasta en distintas clases sociales.
Personally, I don't believe in an eye for an eye in the drastic sense of acting under the influence of anger and revenge, but I do think it's necessary to judge according to the law and punish the offender. I am one of the first people to reject violence, and I am one of the first people to denounce violence as well. Unfortunately, despite enjoying enviable natural beauty, tropical paradises, and magical towns, my country continues to be a place of great violence, where an eye for an eye is still seen on the streets and even among different social classes.
Más allá de eso, debemos educar a nuestros niños, la educación es el factor principal que sigue fallando en nuestra sociedad y no se trata solo de aprender a leer o de despejar una ecuación. Se trata de brindarle a los niños herramientas que los integren a la sociedad, a la productividad, al deporte y a una buena alimentación. El ojo por ojo que se vive actualmente es el fruto de la violencia generalizada de la sociedad, de los delitos sin resolver, de la mala educación sexual que tienen nuestros jóvenes, de la deficiencia de la salud mental y de la misma economía de las regiones. Es el producto de años en los que no se ha planteado una estructura estratégica para resolver la violencia y tener una educación verdadera para nuestros niños y jóvenes, donde el ojo por ojo es la consecuencia inmediata de la violencia y de las malas políticas.
Beyond that, we must educate our children. Education is the main factor that continues to fail in our society, and it is not just about learning to read or solving an equation. It is about providing children with tools that integrate them into society, productivity, sports, and good nutrition. The eye for an eye that we see today is the result of widespread violence in society, unsolved crimes, poor sex education for our young people, poor mental health, and the economy of the regions themselves. It is the product of years in which no strategic structure has been proposed to resolve violence and provide a true education for our children and young people, where an eye for an eye is the immediate consequence of violence and bad policies.
