Bad information is the cause of many evils, including the separation of a couple.
...and people find joy in engaging in false rumors just because they aren't happy with the other person. If there is one big thing I have learnt, is to be calm when rumors occurs and I must surely get the other person's information and not be quick to judge merely by listening to one side of the story.
Being too quick to react in anger when you listen to rumors can ruin things, so, I agree with those tips you mentioned.
Rumors can easily change someone's mood especially if it's the wrong one.
