The Recoleta neighborhood in the city of Buenos Aires cannot go unnoticed when you decide to take street photos. I've been here multiple times and still feel the excitement of being able to capture this area of the city. Yesterday I made a stop at the last subway station "Facultad de Derecho" looking for some good shots.
Near this station there is a bridge that divides Figueroa Alcorta avenue and offers a beautiful view of the urban landscape but.... Why not look for other angles? I positioned myself in a way that I could capture the passage of people over the bridge and that would result in another point of view, another perspective... and these were the results.
El barrio de Recoleta de la ciudad de Buenos Aires no puede pasar desapercibido cuando decides hacer tomar fotos callejeras. He estado múltiples veces por acá y aún se siente la emoción de poder capturar esta zona de la ciudad. Ayer hice una parada en la última estación del subterráneo "Facultad de Derecho" buscando algunas buenas tomas.
Cerca de esta estación hay un puente que divide la avenida Figueroa Alcorta y que nos ofrece una hermosa vista del paisaje urbano pero... ¿Por qué no buscar otros ángulos? Me posicioné de una forma que pudiera capturar el paso de las personas sobre el puente y que tuviese como resultado otro punto de vista, otra perspectiva... y esto fueron los resultados.
I was very struck by these compositions, where you can see the bridge itself, the trees on the side, in the background some of the modern buildings and the people crossing from one side to the other.
Me llamó mucho la atención éstas composiciones, en dónde se puede apreciar el mismo puente, los árboles de costado, al fondo algunos de los edificios modernos y las personas cruzando de un lado a otro.
I had the perfect distance, I was always using the 85 mm fixed lens, but would they have had more impact if they were in black and white?
Tenía la distancia perfecta, estuve usando siempre el lente fijo 85 mm pero, ¿Hubiesen tenido mayor impacto si fuesen en blanco y negro?
In the following photos I show you another perspective already on this bridge and where you can see the metallic flower, the popular Floralis Genérica in the United Nations square. A street with a bicycle lane and on the right side you can barely see the gigantic building of the law school.
En las siguientes fotos les muestro otra perspectiva ya sobre este puente y dónde se puede observar la flor metálica, la popular Floralis Genérica en la plaza naciones unidas. Una calle con ciclovía y al lado derecho apenas se aprecia el gigantesco edificio de la facultad de derecho.
We are in the last stage of winter in Buenos Aires and the temperature at that time was about 7 degrees but it seems that some people are not affected by such low temperatures as in the case of this cyclist 😅
Estamos en la última etapa de invierno en Buenos Aires y la temperatura en ese momento era de unos 7 grados aproximadamente pero parece que a algunas personas no les afectan las temperaturas tan bajas como el caso de este ciclista 😅
Let's see a view of that urban landscape I mentioned at the beginning. This time standing from the middle of the bridge, Figueroa Alcorta avenue, the heavy flow of cars, buildings in the background and bushes on the sides.
Place chosen by many photographers during sunset to take long exposure pictures, (I think I should do this some day)
Veamos una vista de aquel paisaje urbano que mencioné al principio. Está vez parado desde la mitad del puente, la avenida Figueroa Alcorta, la fuerte afluencia de autos, edificios al fondo y arbustos en los laterales.
Lugar elegido por muchos fotógrafos durante el atardecer para hacer fotografias de larga exposición, (creo que debería hacer esto algún día)
Here is a more complete view of the law school's landmark building, the columns and that somewhat... Greek? It is impossible not to stop admiring it even after so many years of knowing it.
Acá tenemos una vista más completa del edificio emblemático de la facultad de derecho, las columnas y ese aspecto un tanto... ¿Griego? Es imposible no dejar de admirarlo incluso después de tantos años de haberlo conocido.
I say goodbye with a photo I took while climbing the bridge to portray the landscapes I mentioned above.
