Hello hivers. I have been practicing with black and white photography, a format that until now had only seemed interesting to me from the point of view of a simple observer. Taking into account that I like to admire monochrome work done by people who really know and master the subject, I decided to investigate and try to do it myself and thus discover if I like or not my own vision of things in black and white.
Unos días atrás hice una publicación en este formato que pueden revisar aquí y el tema que elegí fueron lo insectos, no sólo porque me gusta mucho fotografiarlos y tengo mucho material disponible, sino también porque pensé que sería interesante verlos sin los llamativos colores que caracterizan a la mayoría de ellos.
A few days ago I made a post in this format which you can read here and the subject I chose was insects, not only because I really like photographing them and I have a lot of material available, but also because I thought it would be interesting to see them without the bright colors that characterize most of them.
Cada vez que selecciono una foto para pasarla al formato en blanco y negro me sorprendo al ver la enorme diferencia que existe entre este mundo y el de los colores. Es increíble, no sabría explicarlo, los dos tienen fuerza pero de maneras muy opuestas, el natural a través de la energía que cada color posee y transmite, y el blanco y negro a través de su minimalismo que hace que el ojo se enfoque en la esencia de la imagen.
Every time I select a photo to convert to black and white format, I'm surprised to see the enormous difference that exists between this world and the world of colors. It's incredible, I couldn't explain it, both have strength but in very opposite ways, the natural one through the energy that each color possesses and transmits, and the black and white through its minimalism that makes the eye focus on the essence of the image.
Mientras que los colores nos distraen de los detalles y hacen que nos enfoquemos en el conjunto, el blanco y negro nos ayuda a concentrarnos en la parte más esencial de la foto, quizás por eso no sea tan fácil hacer fotos en monocromático.
While colors distract us from the details and make us focus on the whole, black and white helps us concentrate on the most essential part of the photo, perhaps that is why it's not so easy to take photos in monochrome.
Estoy disfrutando la tarea de buscar fotos en mi celular para transformarlas en imágenes ausentes de color. Reconozco que no es una tarea para nada sencilla porque no todas las fotos salen airosas con este cambio, hay ciertos elementos que deben estar presentes para que una foto a color luzca bien en blanco y negro. Aún no sé muy bien cuáles son esos elementos pero poco a poco los iré descubriendo con la práctica, o al menos eso espero jajaja, lo que sí es muy cierto es que la luz es el protagonista principal.
I'm enjoying the task of searching for photos on my cell phone to transform them into images without color. I recognize that it's not an easy task at all because not all photos turn out successfully with this change, there are certain elements that must be present for a color photo to look good in black and white. I still don't know very well what those elements are but little by little I will discover them with practice, or at least I hope so hahaha, what is very true is that light is the main protagonist.
Hay mucho por aprender e investigar en el área de la fotografía en blanco y negro. Si bien por los momentos intento dejarme llevar por mi gusto y criterio para cambiar de formato algunas de mis fotos a color, lo que realmente sería interesante es tomar fotos a través de un lente donde todo se vea en blanco y negro 🤔, no se si eso existe jajaja, pero lo averiguaré 😉. Creo que eso haría todo más fácil jejeje.
There is much to learn and research in the area of black and white photography. Although at the moment I try to let myself be guided by my taste and criteria to change the format of some of my photos to color, what would really be interesting is to take photos through a lens where everything is seen in black and white 🤔, I don't know if that exists hahaha, but I'll find out 😉. I think that would make everything easier hehehe.
Bueno amigos, si bien no cambio la fotografía normal por la de blanco y negro, principalmente porque amo los colores, hay muchas cosas que me parecen interesantes de este estilo y también hay muchas ideas que se me están ocurriendo y que me gustaría probar hacer jejeje, así que a practicar y experimentar mucho 😃😎.
