Hello hivers. I went twice, on the opening day and another day with fewer people to take many more photos hehehe.
A diferencia de las muñecas de plástico y las que son producidas en masa, las muñecas de trapo tienen la particularidad que son piezas únicas, no sólo porque vienen de la inspiración de quien las hace y que por lo general no repite la misma muñeca, sino que aunque intente hacer dos iguales siempre habrá algo que las diferencie porque están hechas a mano.
Unlike plastic dolls and those that are mass produced, rag dolls have the peculiarity that they are unique pieces, not only because they come from the inspiration of the person who makes them and who generally doesn't repeat the same doll, but that even if she'll try to make two identical ones there will always be something that make them different because they are made by hand.
Precisamente por estar hechas a mano una de las cosas que más me llamó la atención de estas muñecas fueron los detalles que las hacen únicas y que a la vez identifican el estilo de la muñequera que les dió vida. Es por eso que en esta publicación no solo les mostraré algunas muñecas que no incluí en mi post anterior y que me gustaron sino que quise enfocarme en los detalles que pueden pasar desapercibidos en las fotos grandes.
Precisely because they are handmade, one of the things that caught my attention the most about these dolls were the details that make them unique and that at the same time identify the style of the doll maker that gave them life. That's why in this post I will not only show you some dolls that I didn't include in my previous post and that I liked, but I wanted to focus on the details that can go unnoticed in large photos.
Podrán apreciar diferentes maneras de hacer los ojos, la nariz y la boca. Algunas muñequeras usan pintura para realizar estos detalles del rostro mientras que otras prefieren el bordado, y hay muñequeras que les dan un toque más realista con narices en relieve 3D. Igual pasa con el cabello, los hay de estambres, hilos, tiras de tela, cabello sintético, etc. o simplemente no tienen cabello. También verán cabezas alargadas, redondas y planas.
You will be able to appreciate different ways of making the eyes, nose and mouth. Some doll makers use paint to make these facial details while others prefer embroidery, and there are doll makers that give them a more realistic touch with 3D relief noses. The same thing happens with hair, there are yarns, threads, strips of fabric, synthetic hair, etc. or they simply don't have hair. You will also see elongated, round and flat heads.
Si bien la mayoría de las muñecas llevan puestos vestidos, cuando se hacen muñecas inspiradas en personas reales de la cultura, la historia, el arte, etc. la cosa cambia porque hay que ser lo más realista posible y cuidar cada detalle que identifica a ese personaje.
While most dolls wear dresses, when dolls are made inspired by real people from culture, history, art, etc, things change because you must be as realistic as possible and take care of every detail that identifies that character.
Es muy interesante observar la creatividad de cada muñequera para hacer no sólo los detalles básicos (ojos, boca, pestañas, nariz, cabello) sino también algunos accesorios como lentes, moños, turbantes, collares, sombreros, zapatos, etc. Aunque esta exposición era de muñecas de trapo, había algunas hechas con la técnica de crochet y con unos detalles realmente increíbles.
It's very interesting to observe the creativity of each doll maker to make not only the basic details (eyes, mouth, eyelashes, nose, hair) but also some accessories such as glasses, bows, turbans, necklaces, hats, shoes, etc. Although this exhibition was about rag dolls, there were some made with the crochet technique and with truly incredible details.
El arte de la muñequería no solo permite realizar muñecas hermosas, originales y personalizadas con materiales reciclables sino que también permite una mayor identificación con la cultura y la sociedad local, lo que contribuye a una mayor inclusión ya que en las muñecas estarán reflejadas las niñas, las mujeres, los hombres y los personajes que representan a ese pueblo, a esa ciudad y a ese país.
The art of doll making not only allows us to make beautiful, original and personalized dolls with recyclable materials but also allows greater identification with the local culture and society, which contributes to greater inclusion because the girls, the women, the men and the characters that represent that town, that city and that country, will be reflected in those dolls.
Esta variedad de formas, colores, tamaños y estilos que se pueden hacer con las muñecas de trapo ayuda a que las niñas y los niños desarrollen un patrón de belleza basado en la diversidad y no sólo en un estereotipo estandarizado por el mercado y la publicidad.
This variety of shapes, colors, sizes and styles that can be made with rag dolls helps girls and boys develop a standard of beauty based on diversity and not just on a stereotype standardized by the market and advertising.
Cuando fuí a esta exposición tenía mi idea preconcebida sobre las muñecas de trapo (muñecas de rostro infantil, vestidos, cabello de colores) y quedé gratamente sorprendida al ver muñecas adultas, viejitas, indias, negras, flacas, gordas, hombres, en pocas palabras, gente real que uno ve en la calle de la ciudad, y también me gustó ver muñecas inspiradas en artistas, figuras religiosas, históricas y personajes de la cultura popular venezolana.
When I went to this exhibition I had my preconceived idea about rag dolls (dolls with a child's face, dresses, colored hair) and I was pleasantly surprised to see adult dolls, old ladies, Indians, black women, skinny women, fat women, men, in a few words, real people that we see on the street, and I also liked seeing dolls inspired by artists, heroes of independence, religious figures and characters from Venezuelan popular culture.
El arte de la muñequería está en auge en Venezuela, hay muchas personas talentosas haciendo muñecas y muchas de ellas tienen sus marcas y redes sociales donde ofrecen sus productos y también trabajan con encargos personalizados. Cada una de estas mujeres creativas, aunque también hay hombres muñequeros, ponen su arte, su creatividad y sobretodo su amor en cada una de estas piezas.
The art of doll making is booming in Venezuela, there are many talented people making dolls and many of them have their brands and social networks where they offer their products and also work with personalized orders. Each of these creative women, although there are also male doll makers, put their art, their creativity and above all their love into each of these pieces.

Esta exposición fue inaugurada el 8 de septiembre y estará hasta mañana, por cierto que mañana estarán bautizando a varias muñecas.

Estas muñecas me recuerda un viaje que hice Maracaibo e hicimos una parada por Tintorero, un sitio que venden muchas artesanías y muñecas de ese estilo. Saludos !

Hola! ¿en serio? Yo creo que alguna vez tuve una muñeca de trapo pero de seguro jugué muy poco con ella porque no me gustaba jugar a las muñecas 🤣🤣🤣 pero con las Barbies sí jejeje porque eran mujeres y no bebés jajaja y traían ropa y cosas más interesantes 🤷🏻♀️ sin embargo ahora cuando veo las muñecas de trapo admiro mucho todo el trabajo y el proceso creativo que hay detrás de cada una de ellas.
