Daine smiled as she watched Daniel do the dishes. He looked so beautiful, his legs had healed pretty well after the accident. She'd lived without him for three months while he struggled to get back on his feet. It had been a painful process, one both of them would never ever forget. She was thankful it was all over now, even if Daniel might never play football again.

"What are you grinning at my little birdie", he turned to face her and his perfectly built chest shone like an armor of gold and his brown hair fell perfectly in front of his face almost covering his hazel eyes. "What? am I not allowed to admire God's wonderful creation?", the moment she said it she'd almost regretted.

"Don't you mention God Daine, where was this God when I was almost turned into sushi by a crazy ass Maniac, where was he huh!, she could see the rage in his eyes and the hate all over his person. He'd never been like this, he'd always been so loving and happy untill that accident where someone had tried to kill him, to burn him alive, it had been a nightmare and what was worse was that the culprit still hasn't been caught.

Daine walked up to him and kissed him slightly on the lips, then she pulled him close to her embrace whispering " It's going to be alright baby, it is". She could feel his breathing steady, she looked directly in his eyes with one hand on his cheek. She loved the man so much and couldn't bear to let anything happen to him. Whether God was real or not she'd begged him to always protect Daniel no matter what.

Quiet footsteps hurried down the corridor and hands covered with black gloves open the kitchen door slightly. Ah, there they were, the two of them looking as happy as ever. He was lucky to have escaped the first time, there was no way he was going to escape again this time.

Everything had been going perfectly as planned only for her to show up and ruin everything, call it luck or whatever, how she'd discover where he had been held was a mystery that this head couldn't easily wrap around and to think she came right on time when the deed had almost been done.

There was going to be no escape this time, no way, the deed was going to be done and he'll finally pay for all the pain he had caused, Daniel deserved to die.

"Why are you doing this to us!", Daine screamed at the top of her lungs with an anger that surprised her. It all happened so fast, they had been about to have dinner when suddenly the powered went out and something hard hit her on the forehead. She'd passed out only to wake up being tied to a chair with Daniel knocked out cold by her side. She couldn't touch him, he looked so helpless with blood running down his beautiful face, she couldn't tell if he was still alive and this made her so angry.

She hated feeling helpless, not being able to help the ones she loved. Her mother had died of a heart disease after her dad had died few months after she was born and her little baby too had died of cold few months after having her, Daniel was all she had and there was no way she was loosing him to this, killer for whatever reason, no way.

The killer didn't even pay her any attention, dressed in black from head to toe, he just stood facing the kitchen counter with a knife on the table carving something she couldn't see. Wait, it wasn't a he at all, she could see something that looked like breasts for as she turned to face her. What in the world did this woman want with her family and how the hell did she get past all the security.

"Hush darling hush, you don't want us disturbing the neighbors", She finally said with a voice that sounded like Daine grandma's, there was no mistaking it, this right here was an elderly woman. "Please, don't hurt us, we're willing to pay whatever you want, please just name your price, Daine said as tears ran down her eyes. At that same moment, Daniel wakes up and she could see the shock written all over his face.

He stared at her to be sure she was ok, she nodded to give him assurance. Then he faced the killer, "who are you and what do you want with us?", She was surprised to hear the calmness in his voice, he didn't look the least bit shaken, maybe something had indeed changed inside him. Weird laughter filled up the whole room, it sounded like a broken engine and it had an air of mischief around it.

"You sound every bit as arrogant as your father", the killer said bringing the knife close to his temples. "Of course you wouldn't know who I am, how would you? People like you don't know others all you know is to inflict pain on them and move on like nothing happened", there was no mistaking it this time there was pain in this voice. "Tell me what we've done to deserve such monstrosity!", Daniel yelled this time struggling with every ounce of strength he had left to get himself loose but the ropes were well tied, it was the work of an expert.

"Your father killed my little boy, he ran over him while he was outside the house playing football, he was just five. How the hell did his car miss the road and find itself all the way to my yard? Of course he was drunk, he was fucking drunk! and he killed my baby, now he's raised his own son to become a successful football player", she laughed again. "If not for your father my son would have still been alive and who knows, maybe he would have been in the same league as you", the killer said and walked towards the kitchen counter again and stood there trying to catch her breath.

Daniel couldn't say a thing, he'd been as shocked as she was. Whatever reason, it didn't warrant killing anybody, they'd have to escape somehow. Daine said a silent prayer, and hoped this time that he'll come to her rescue. "I could have killed him but no, where's the fun in that , he's already lived his life, instead I'll take that which he loves the most, his child", the killer said and took out a keg walked up to Daniel and poured it over him. Then she turned to face Daine, "you were lucky last time, this time, you're going to watch him burn to death".

She took out a lighter from her pocket, clicked it once and the fire came out majestically in full view then she removed her finger. Took of her mask revealing a face that was still beautiful except for the wrinkles of old age. She smiled broadly then walked slowly towards where Daniel sat tied up, you could see the horror in her eyes. Daniel screamed too, Daine couldn't hear what he was saying because she'd blacked out for a second.

The killer was now in front of them both lighter in hand, she clicked again but this time Daine came charging at her with a spear. Apparently, there was a sharp edge, a broken piece of the chair she was tied too that he yanked at till she was able to cut the rope lose. She took the killer all the way to the ground knocking the lighter off her hand. An heavy slap rocked Diane's face and then the killer was on top her in seconds, more slaps and punches landed on her face. She struggled hard and then kicked her off her body and then she raced towards the knife that laid some inches away from her but her hair got pulled back.

Then another punch hit her face, she was sure she was going to be knocked out cold but she still hanged on for her dear life and for Daniel. Both ladies struggled screaming hard and then Daine finally landed a punch that took the killer flying until she landed face first at the edge of the counter, knocked out cold. Panting and limping Daine picked up the knife and walked over to the love of her life sat wide eyed and shaken. Then she cut the ropes lose, immediately he came out free, he hugged her tightly and uttered the words I love you so much.

I know revenge is bad..but the killer had a sure fire reason to want to kill them, but she talks too much...I love your story and I'm happy she(the main character) stopped getting knocked out and finally knocked someone out ... 💪 Fantastic!

Yeah..true most of the reasons for revenge are very reasonable ones and yeah...she did talk too much ,😂😂😂 much to the comfort of the main characters.

You've said it all beautiful..

Lovely comment ❤️

A story with sinister touches, where love can prevail over revenge. I like how you narrate the events, you manage to capture the reader's attention with a lot of suspense. In the end, both Daine and Daniel managed to survive the ruthless killer. Good job!

I was so scared for Daniel, i'm really happy that he escaped the second time. Yes, that woman is broken, but Daniel had no part in it, children shouldn't be made to pay for the sins of their fathers. Great story.
