RE: The Cold Cases | 17 March 2024, @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2314 | Prompt: denial (denegación)

Wow, Jeremiah is quite the character! He's an enigma, living a life of secrecy and darkness, and clearly without remorse for his nefarious acts. It's like he delights in adding to the body counts and it's rooted in the belief that he'll never be caught.

There's a popular proverb in my language, "Every day is for the thief, but one day is for the owner." It means a person can do all sorts of terrible things but no matter how long he gets away with it, someday, he will be caught. Finally, Jeremiah was caught! A gripping, well-written mystery full of suspense. Thanks for sharing. Have a relaxing Sunday. !PIMP

Hello @kemmyb. Yes, the smug Jeremiah planned well for ten years. But as with all overconfident individuals, they forget, overlook, or tend to minimize information out of their control. The most ardent criminals are sometimes captured under the most unusual and minute circumstances.

This reminds me of the serial killer who had a penchant for fast driving. On his way back from committing another crime, he was apprehended during a simple traffic stop. One thing led to another. Offering assistance, the officer noticed several items when the gentleman opened his trunk.

I was happy that technology caught up with Jeremiah.

Thanks for your visit and insightful observations for my story. I appreciate it, the engagement, and support. Take care and have a good start to your week.
