En un pueblo lejos de la Ciudad vive David, un chico de 28 años de edad, hijo único, vive con su padre Manuel y su madre Teresa, una familia pequeña, con bajos recursos económicos, pero muy felices.
Su padre trabaja con ganados en una granja cerca de su vivienda y la madre se encarga de hacer el queso con la leche ordeñada por su esposo, para vender.
En unas navidades pasadas cuando David tenía apenas 10 años de edad, salió junto con unos amigos del pueblo a jugar con fuegos artificiales, la estaban pasando muy bien cuando de pronto David enciente un cohete de estos que explotan en el cielo de muchos colores, y este va directo a su cara, el niño cayó al suelo llorando y gritando porque algo le ocurría en sus ojos.
Llamaron a los padres, y lo llevaron al hospital más cercano, al llegar de inmediato lo intervinieron quirúrgicamente, pero lamentablemente el daño fue irreversible, quedó completamente ciego, ya que ambos ojos sufrieron graves quemaduras producto del fuego artificial que vino defectuoso.
Fue un dolor terrible y cambió para siempre la vida de David y de toda la familia.
Con el pasar del tiempo David fue adaptándose a aquella dura situación con la ayuda incondicional de sus padres, estudió en una escuela especial para ciegos, donde reforzó su aprendizaje con el sistema braille (es un sistema de lectura y escritura táctil, que utilizan las personas con discapacidad visual).
Creció, se preparó y ya tenía la seguridad para salir a dar pequeños paseos solo caminando a lugares cercanos a su casa.
Un día cuando David estaba sentado en el banco de un parque escuchando a los niños jugando y a los pájaros cantar conoció a Emily, una chica de 25 años de edad, ella se sentó junto a el y empezaron una conversación amistosa, ahí conocieron un poco del otro, donde vivían, que actividades les gustaba hacer en sus tiempos libres, donde estudiaron, y pasaron horas conversando gratamente.
Emily viene de un hogar con principios y valores establecidos. Graduada en enfermería, ella posee un alto nivel de humanidad y bondad.
Ambos comenzaron una relación amorosa que duró un año de noviazgo; él le decía siempre que ella era la mujer más hermosa que había conocido en su vida, Emily asombrada le preguntaba qué ¿Cómo sabía que era hermosa si nunca la había visto?, mientras él respondió: “solo la suavidad de tu piel, lo largo y lacio de tu cabello, tu dulce voz, el olor que te caracteriza, la forma tan tierna con la que me tratas, además de todo lo que me transmites cuando me tocas, cuando me abrazas, te hace la mujer más bella de este mundo”. Ambos sonrieron y se abrazaron…
David a veces se llenaba de dudas e inseguridades por su condición, él le preguntaba constantemente si ella no se cansaría en el futuro por ser un hombre minusválido que no podía valerse en su totalidad por sí mismo.
Emily lo tomó de las manos y le dijo: “yo jamás te voy a dejar de querer, te amo con todas las fuerzas de mi corazón, además de ser muy guapo, tu mayor belleza es la que viene de tu interior, eres un ser de luz, amable, cariñoso, noble, todo lo que yo siempre busqué en un hombre, y contigo aprendí lo que es el verdadero amor.
Después de un año de relación se casaron y vivieron en una pequeña cabaña cerca de la casa de los padres de David.
A los dos años de casados Emily salió embarazada y dio a luz a un hermoso varón, muy sano, que pesó 3 kilos y medio y midió 53 centímetros.
