Do you have any fish tank at your garden? I do have four #gappy fishes at my garden in a bucket. I was having problem like BIRDS & CATS are attacking on them to eat, we have lost lot of guppy fishes in past months. Here we made one idea to keep them secure.
Now they can't eat them - WATCH :
How to make a pond in bucket? Would be nice round bucket for small fishes? A lot of queries are appearing on my mind while i was having some fishes. Fancy guppy are very hardy kind of fish that everyone wants to have them into indoor guppy pond. There are lot of breeds in guppy but the untold story about guppy breeding techniques are still so mysterious.
Guppy are use to have very limited food. There are a lot of guppy fishes in the world but 15 most expensive beautiful guppy are there. We have 2 of them, not sure i can catch & show to you guys. Bucket pond or outdoor pond i made for them at upstairs at home.
They are being always open pot birds are attacking them sometimes, to make them secure here is an idea. This pot has only some Water lettuce
The smallest floating plants are here we have collected from an old pond which is nearby, duckweeds, water hyacinth, watermeal, water lettuce plants are common.
This plastic circle is pretending to floating on water & this will create some space here in between water plants & water. Where the fishes can come & breath, if anything attacks they can disappear into the water plants.

Such a good idea to give them a hiding space!
When I was in college I had some fish - but the last one I had was a betta fish. He lived in his bowl for a year and a half and my cat paid him no attention, but then one day I came home from work and found that she had climbed the shelf that was as tall as a person and full of books and things, knocked over the bowl, and ate him! All I found left was his tail on the floor. I decided if I ever get fish again, I have to get a big tank like you made for your guppies that cats can't knock over.
I just read what you wrote, Sorry for my delay response. Yes it was shame when i have lot 30 + fishes by cats / birds attacks ! now this idea is helped me a lot. Thanks for watching the video of making process.
