How are you all? Today is a special day for me, because I have added three new cards my Splinterlands deck or collection. Those who play this game know how important it is to buy the right cards and use them at right time. For a long time, I was thinking making my deck a little stronger especially for high-mana battles. With that thought in mind, I bought these three cards today.

In today's blog, I will discuss these three cards in detail—Pallus, Harbinger of Chaos, and Night Reaper. Why I bought them, what their powers or abilities are, and how they can help me in the game, everything will be discussed in this discussion.

  1. Pallas is an awesome chimeric beast

The first card I bought today is Pallus. This is a Neutral element card which means I can use card with any element fire water earth etc.. It is a Legendary Epic type card and its design suggests that it is quite powerful.

Card Analysis it is a Chimeric Beast hybrid creature, with half its body resembling an eagle or bird and the rest resembling an animal. Its appearance has a ferocious look that is enough intimidate opponents on the battlefield.

Stats (Level 1)

Mana Cost 8

Attack 3 (Melee)

Speed 3

Armor 1

Health 7

Abilities Special Abilities At Level 1 Pallas has two main abilities that make it special:

  1. Flying It has wings so it can fly. According game rules due its flying ability non-flying monsters have a chance missing when trying hit it. In addition, this card will not take any damage in the Earthquake ruleset.

  2. Reach Although it is a melee attack card, due to its reach ability, I can place it in the second position and from there it can hit the opponent's tank. Usually, melee cards cannot kill unless they are in the first position, but Pallas is an exception in this case.

Why did I buy it? This 8-mana card is great for high-mana battles. Especially when I need a good ally behind my main tank, Pallas can provide support from behind with her 'Reach' ability. Moreover, since it is neutral, it will also create a great combination with Dragon or Fire teams.

  1. Harbinger of Chaos: A reservoir of magical power

The second card I bought is Harbinger of Chaos. As the name suggests, it is a master of creating chaos or chaos. It is an Orc type card and also belongs to the neutral element. That is, it is also a very versatile or omniscient card that fits into any team.

Card Analysis The illustration card shows a powerful magician shaman, surrounded by a purple aura. He holds a magical staff in his hand a kind of cunningness appears in his eyes.

Stats (Level 1):

Mana Cost: 8

Attack: 3 (Magic)

Speed: 2

Armor: 0

Health: 7

Ability Special Power The biggest power this card is its Halving ability.

Halving This ability is one most powerful abilities in the game. Whenever Harbinger Chaos hits an enemy, that enemy attack power will be halved. For example, if the opponent's tank has an attack of 5, this card will reduce its attack to 2 or 3 (according to round up/down). This is the best weapon to weaken a strong opponent.

It also does magic attacks, which means it will directly damage the opponent's armor or armor.

Why did I buy it? Magic attack cards are always valuable in Splinterlands. But getting a neutral card with the 'halving' ability means getting the moon in my hand. In big battles, where the opponent does a lot of damage, I can easily blunt their attacks by using this card. Moreover, its health is 7, which is quite good for a magic attacker. It will not die easily.

  1. Night Reaper: The Angel of Death

1000501329.jpg

The last and biggest surprise of my purchase today is Night Reaper. This is a huge 11 mana card! It is clear that it is a card of the 'Death' or death element. There is a kind of darkness and mystery in both its name and image.

Card Analysis Its middle eye is glowing. This is also a Chimeric Beast. Its huge mana cost (11) suggests that it is designed only for 99 mana very high mana matches.

Stats (Level 1):

Mana Cost: 11

Attack: 3 (Magic)

Speed: 4

Armor: 0

Health: 9

Abilities or special abilities: Night Reaper's abilities have made it a true monster.

  1. Flying: Like Palace, it can fly, so it has a higher evasion or hit avoidance ability.

  2. Second Ability (Taunt/Void?): Looking at the chart, it seems like it has a special defensive or attacking bonus ability at level 1 (looking at the icon, it seems like it is a reflect or special defense mechanism). Usually, 11 mana cards have something that can turn the tide of the entire game. Its high health (9) will help it play the role of a good tank.

Why did I buy it? Sometimes in high mana battles (like 50+ or 99 mana), it is foolish to fill the slots with small cards. Then you need a card that can do the same job as 2-3 people alone. Night Reaper is just such a card. I can use it as a trump card by using 'Thaddius Brood' or other summoners with the Death Element. With 3 magic damage and 4 speed, it will get a chance to hit the opponent very quickly.

Gameplay and future plans

After buying these three cards, my deck feels much more balanced than before.

1000501333.png

Since Pallus and Harbinger of Chaos are neutral, I will have the opportunity to use them in almost every match. Especially when I don't have good cards of a certain element, they will save me.

Night Reaper may not be usable in every match, but whenever the mana cap is high, it will be my main weapon.

My plan is to level up these cards slowly. As you can see in chart their power increases geometrically as the level increases. For example when Harbinger Chaos reaches level 3, it gains a new ability and its health increases. When Pallas reaches level 4 its damage increases 4, which is very serious.

Currently I am between Bronze and Silver leagues. I believe these cards will help me advance towards Gold League. Splinterlands is a game where it's not just about having cards but also knowing right combinations them. I'm thinking creating a defensive but strong line-up with Pallas in the second position Harbinger in the back row.

What do you think these cards for those you who play Splinterlands? Do you think these three cards will perform well in current meta game style? I'm especially optimistic about the halving ability Harbinger Chaos Don't forget share your thoughts in the comments.

I will end post here for today. I might write another blog in the future about how I experienced battling with the new cards. Until then everyone stay safe stay healthy keep gaming!
