In this video, I share my 5 biggest takeaways from the most recent Splinterlands town hall. There is A LOT to be excited about right now as many of the items the team has been working on are set to come out over the next 8-12 week, starting with Survival Mode. Here are my 5 biggest takeaways:
- Feb 27 Release - Survival Mode & Leaderboard Rework
The next release will not be on your normal Tuesday morning, it will be at the end of the current season as the team plans to implement the much anticipated Survival Mode as well as a leaderboard rework. This rework is going to change all leaderboard prizes to Glint instead of DEC and will allow leaderboards at all leagues instead of just a single one at Champion. It will also extend to 100 places instead of 50. These changes should absolutely shake up the card market and game economy once live!
- Marketing Update
This was the best part of the Town Hall for me. Andrew from Not Corrupt Media, the team behind Illuvium's $72M land sale event, is who we have brought on to work with Blaze and consult with the team to bring this game to a wider audience. Andrew didn't sugar coat anything and gave very realistic expectations and projections for what this partnership will be. I'm excited to see how all the events and activations he has planned work out.
- Campaign Mode & Foundation Set Up Next
It seems that once we are through Survival Mode and Land 1.75 the team will be shifting their focus to Campaign Mode and the Foundation Set. Both of these items will have to be out before Conclave Arcana launches in May so there is a relatively strict deadline for the team to hit all of their releases. These items will be great for the new user onboarding and experience and when the marketing efforts ramp up with the next set launch having these ready to go will be crucial.
- Land 1.75 & Beyond
Matt confirmed that all the coding for Land 1.75 has been completed and it is now in testing. The game plan is still for a March release as long as nothing major pops up. After the launch, the team will focus on providing more utility to the new land resources through conflict wagons and revival potions but there is no time frame for that outside of the Conclave Arcana launch dates.
- Conclave Arcana
Matt confirmed once again that the pre-sale timing for Conclave Arcana will be early April with the set and general sale launching either late April or early May. He also mentioned there will be a new feature in the set focusing on synergies and abilities between species/races that exist within Praetoria. Another feature is being worked on but unconfirmed if it will make release but is said to be something collectors would enjoy.
All things considered, this was one of the best Town Halls we've had in awhile and it has me very bullish about the direction of the game over the next few months. I'm not even worried about the rest of the crypto market because at the end of the day, I'm just a player who loves the game and is excited for new features. Vonak!

Where is best to get a breakdown of how survival mode works? Are you doing a video? had some guild members asking lots of questions about it, cooldown period etc
Absolutely fantastic Town Hall. Good overview AfterSound. I think you nailed the top 5.
Awesome! Thanks for the summary. Excited to see a bit of enthusiasm back in the rental market.
Hopefully these good news along with validators release will put SPS on an upwards trajectory

@aftersound, I sent you anSome big things coming to us in the next month... Over all I think the Splinterlands team made decisions in the last month and I have much fun playing Splinterlands.
Does anyone know how the big drops in DEC supply are technically possible? Is DEC being burnt?
