Now that we are over 48 hours from the launch of the Chaos Legion general sale, we are sitting at about only 6.5M packs sold. That's a far cry from the Day 1 Sellout sentiment that has been brewing since mid-December. So what does this mean overall for Splinterlands?
The truth is that this game is not as big as we thought it was.
The community as a whole cannot swallow 40M+ of packs and the whales didn't bother to show up and scoop all the packs away. This could be for a myriad of reasons including the general downtrend and anxiety in the crypto and traditional markets. But ultimately, it seems as though packs will be available for the foreseeable future.
And that is a good thing.
Right now Splinterlands is in a heavy consolidation period. We just had a major launch of cards, SPS is down over 85% from it's all time high, and the daily active player base is not as large as it was a couple of months ago. All of these things are the exact reason that if you believe in the project, you should be accumulating.
The beautiful thing about P2E is that you don't even have to put anymore money in. Just show up every day and play the game, earn cards and DEC, and collect assets. Crypto and gaming will have another run, whether that is in 1 month or 3 years, but this is an important period to level up your decks and get more involved. Don't let it pass you by!

I think a lot of new players dropped out with the change of dec earnings per battle for the lower tiers and the price of sps/dec. When the prices go up again, another wave will come in.
