Now that we are about 2 weeks out from the launch of the Chaos Legion general sale, it seems as though the market has stabalized and cards have found an equilibrium between supply and demand. As of now, we are still showing less than half of packs purchased actually being opened so that is keeping the market from being flooded and driving card prices down further.
Based on the rate of sale over the past couple of days, we are seeing roughly 25k packs sold per day which translates to a sell out of the expansion some time in July. That will coincide with the end of the airdrop which means holding unopened packs will no longer have the added benefit of airdropped SPS. At that point, if packs are sold out we may see a higher pack opening rate and increased prices for packs on the secondary market, thus potentially causing the market to reprice itself once again as cards go into another price discovery mode.
Now all that being said, hype and fomo or another bullrun by bitcoin could turn this whole thing around much quicker. But if we stay in the boring zone for awhile, I can see this playing out around the midpoint of the year.
Until then, I'll just keep collecting packs and sniping cards off the market!

I think you're right. Don't hear anymore hype or even an afterthought about those supposed large gaming guilds (YGG) joining Splinterlands? Did they or any of them join? I think we'll continue to see slow growth for several months, but we're here for the long term. Good content as usual, my friend.
