Finally Got a Grove Doomblade...in GOLD!!

Anyone who reads my blog posts knows that I absolutely love the Elf Bloodline in Splinterlands. Almost every single post I'm talking about a new card with the Elf Bloodline or a new strategy that I'm trying out. And today's post is no exception! For at least the past month I have been trying to pull a Grove Doomblade. I kept spending most of my glint on the rare draws, and with my most recent season rewards I finally got it! In today's post I want to talk about some of the strengths of Grove Doomblade and highlight how it performed in one of my recent matches.

About The Card

Prior to jumping in and showing how this card performed in a match, I want to explain why I wanted this card so much. The first reason, pure and simple, is that the card is an Elf, and I absolutely love the Elf Bloodline. But more than that, the card actually has some pretty impressive stats.

Let's See it In Action!!

To show an example of Grove doomblade in action, I'd like to share an example of a recent match that I played with this card. This was a 26 mana match with the opportunity rule sets and all of the splinters except the death splinter were available.

At the end of Round 1, Grove Domblade used its powerful melee attack to score a one hit KO on my opponent's Thandalorian Blade.

In Round 2, Grove Doomblade used its melee attack to take my opponent's Endless Ape from 7 health to 2 health, and then triggered the Execute ability to swing in for a second attack and finish off my opponent's primary tank.

Victory

At the end of the second round, my Rune Arcanist scored the final blow against my opponent's last unit, and we were able to win the match and secure the SPS as well as glint. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how Grove Doomblade did in this match, it scored two KOs against my opponent and was instrumental in winning the match. In addition to trying out new cards and strategies, one of the things I like most about Splinterlands is that I can earn additional NFTs and cryptocurrency for winning matches. If you like trading card games, and you are interested in a game that also offers an in-built mechanism for earning rewards and leveling up you collection, then I'd invite you to join me in Splinterlands using my referral link.

Final Analysis of Grove Doomblabe

Although Grove doomblade was instrumental in winning this match, I think it's important to point out that Splinterlands uses a constantly changing rule set, which means that a card that excels in one match might not do so well in another. With that in mind, I'd like to briefly discuss some of the rule sets where I think this card would do really well and some of the rule sets where I think it might suffer a little bit.

One of the rule sets that I think this card would do a really well in is the reverse speed rule set. With only 1 speed, this card is likely to go first a reverse speed rule set.

However, I think this card might struggle in a rule set that gives all the shield ability. Since it only has a melee attack, this means that the effectiveness of its attack would be reduced considerably. It would also be unplayable in the Need for Speed ruleset.
