Pixels AMA Recap — Major Updates, New Partnerships, and What’s Coming Next

in Splinterlands21 hours ago

The latest Pixels AMA delivered a wave of new insights into the game's development direction, upcoming features, community highlights, and ecosystem changes. From strategic shifts to exciting collaborations and live events, here’s a complete breakdown of everything announced.

A New Strategic Direction for Pixels

Pixels is entering a new phase of growth. While Chapter 3 continues trending upward with ongoing tuning of the economy and gameplay loop, the team is preparing for the next big step: scaling beyond Web3.

A core part of this strategy is reaching traditional gaming audiences. The Pixels team is currently developing new apps designed specifically to test how Pixels-style mechanics resonate with mainstream players. These apps will help refine marketing, improve user onboarding, and introduce sustainable revenue models.

One of the new products in development will act as a cross-game rewards hub. Although Pixels itself will not move to the app, certain Pixels rewards will be accessible through it—making it a unified experience that connects various titles in the ecosystem, including Chubkins.

Ember Unleashed — Pixels x Fableborne Collaboration

A major highlight of the AMA was the official announcement of Ember Unleashed, a 3-day crossover quest between Pixels and Fableborne. This release also coincides with the long-awaited launch of Fableborne Season 4, returning after a year-long pause.

Players can participate by meeting Glint near the Guild Hall and traveling to the Mountains. Completing daily steps across the three-day event unlocks:

A brand-new Fableborne hero

An exclusive Pixels outfit

This marks the first-ever hero reveal hosted directly inside Pixels.

Spotlight on Community Creators

The Pixels community continues to produce exceptional content:

Billa published an extensive guide on Chapter 3, covering Unions, Yieldstones, Offerings, and more—an invaluable resource for players navigating the update.

Chae completed a challenge to earn 1,000 $PIXEL as a free-to-play player, sharing strategies and insights from the journey.

ChickenPet highlighted a major ecosystem milestone: over $200 million worth of $PIXEL has now been staked.

These creators continue to elevate the Pixels ecosystem with helpful and inspiring contributions.

Pixels Featured on Pawn Stars

One of the most surprising developments came from the entertainment world. Jihoz from Axie Infinity and Ronin appeared on a Pawn Stars podcast, while Cloudwhite visited the show to attempt pawning several Ronin items—including a Pixels Space Land NFT.

Clips and full episodes have already begun releasing, bringing Pixels into a new level of mainstream visibility.

Neon Zone Live Event — Manila, November 19

Pixels is hosting an in-person Neon Zone event in Manila on November 19. Attendees can expect:

Arcade games

A giant giraffe statue

Real Berry Blast drinks

ZoneZ tokens

Playable Higher or Lower and Coin Flipper booths

The event promises a high-energy celebration of Pixels and its community.

Key Q&A Insights $vPIXEL & Expanding Offers

The rollout of $vPIXEL continues with select users. It works like standard $PIXEL—earnable, withdrawable, and stakeable—but allows the team to issue larger quantities for experiments and ecosystem growth. More offer types and higher frequency are planned in the coming 1–2 months.

Chubkins will rely heavily on offers, rewarding players for pet-raising tasks, social goals, and completing collections.

Staking Rewards

Players continue to earn rewards from four staking pools. Rewards accumulate automatically but should be claimed and restaked to maximize APR. The process is partially manual for now but will be streamlined.

Merchant Ships, Neon Zone & Gameplay Adjustments

Merchant Ships store updates are coming later, but a major animal care update is in development.

Neon Zone leaderboards are now dynamic, with prize pools scaling based on in-game spending.

Bountyfall and Unions are receiving ongoing short-term tweaks, with larger competitive updates planned.

Ideas, Notifications & Future Features

Players can submit feature ideas through the official feedback page.

Chapter 3 notifications can be enabled via the Hearth Events Discord channel.

Three Neon Zone pets remain to be released, one each day.

Concepts like cross-world trading (e.g., Pixels ↔ Forgotten Runiverse) are long-term considerations but not planned for the near future.

That was it for This Weeks AMA
