Conclave Arcana Reward Set

I haven't really had the chance to build up and max out my Rebellion reward card collection because I started this account a few months ago. It really takes time to accumulate glint especially when you don't have highly leveled cards to use in battle. So when I heard the news about the release of a brand new Conclave Arcana set, I was really excited because I now have the opportunity to grind these cards right from the start of its release.

For those who haven't read it yet, here's the link to the official announcement of the new reward set.

While not a single card spoiler has been released yet, we do have a confirmation on the breakdown of rarities, 12 commons, 12 rares, 7 epics, 12 legendaries. It seems odd to me that the epics are the ones with the least variety just like how the Rebellion reward set was. But regardless, I'm really hoping we would get really strong legendary cards this time around. The previous ones were a bit underwhelming in my opinion and was overshadowed by the epic cards.

Play-to-Earn Opportunity

If there's one thing that I've really noticed with Splinterlands, it's that there are a handful of players who really spend a sizeable amount of money to collect rare and new cards. I've noticed this through the Frontier format where some players buy cards just to complete their collection even if they are half as strong as the regular cards.

And this new feature where gold cards are now unbind and immediately sellable to the market would definitely open a possibility for players to earn while playing, more so than the usual SPS rewards which is not that valuable. The weekly raffles are also a nice incentive for players to keep playing their daily battles because owning black foils and arcanes are already jackpots in itself.

What's even crazier for me is the fact that the regular gold foil version of cards is now limited. A 5,000 cap for a common would mean that there can only be 131 max gold version of that card. I think this would set a higher floor price for gold cards. I do know that there are some players who specifically collect gold versions.

Preparing for the Reward Set

I am contenmplating on what to do for this new change in Splinterlands. My glint earnings in modern is not that high as I am usually stuck in the silver league. I know some players who rent both max cards and SPS, then play in the wild league. The rental cost for powerful Chaos Legion cards are very cheap and they gain a lot of SPS and glint. I might try a season playing in wild to see if my yield would be significantly higher than in modern while putting into consideration the rental and wild pass expenses.

What I Look Forward To

I would really love to see more Drakoshan type cards in this new set. I have taken a liking to this race and I'm always excited to see fresh new addition to my arsenal. I was priced out of the last one, Tasoshi Drakamoto, because it's too expensive at three dollars a copy. Now, if there is a Drakoshan in this one, I can max it out for free by just doing my daily grind.

As for my Death deck, I'm having some regret of choosing Reklah as my archon as it will rotate out of modern in a couple of months next year. I was hoping I could maintain the Weaken based strategy but I guess we will see what the future brings.
