It's been a while since my last post but I've still been doing frequent daily battles. I must say the modern league has been a bit tougher for me. I feel like my opponents were getting more competitive compared to my previous seasons. I've also often been in a losing streak and stuck in the Silver III bracket right now.
And most opponents I face no longer just use Frontier archons but Conclave Arcana ones like Razi Clanktrap and Elias Max Pruitt. I guess this just shows that I am still lacking a lot in my card collection and I am limited in my arsenal in duels.
And when in comes to my deck, I've been slowly building up my cards. I've recently had enough copies to have a maxed out Songale, which was selling for very cheap prices right now. Although this might seem like it is not used that often in battles, I believe in the usefulness of Songale since it is currently the only Bloodline Tribute holder for the Drakoshan race.
And Songale is a very good combination with Tasoshi Drakamoto who has Painforge. But Tasoshi is still quite expensive right now with the cheapest copies selling at $3. It might take me a while to build up but I will get there soon. My biggest problem though for my Drakoshan deck is that the summoner itself, Kavor Skarn, is still pending at 17 copies, which is just at level 3. This is my top priority right now to complete.
I'm also a bit dissappointed with the performance of my Death team which focused mainly on the Weakness ability. On paper, leeching away on the opponent's health and killing them off in one shot is a viable strategy.
But the problem I am encountering now is that there are currently few options for units with Weaken in the Death roster right now. And my units that are supposed to finish off the opponent's army are getting killed right away. This is because Death's magic attackers are often defenseless and very slow. But even still, I'm still winning some matches using this strategy. You can check the actual link of a sample battle here.
As for my other assets, I've been earning a little bit of SPS each season and my stake has now come to around 6,000.
Thanks to BraveTofu for lending the 50,000 SPS that was delegated at the start of this account. But I feel like I'm missing out on some SPS and Glint rewards by trying to battle with my incomplete modern collection. I might try to rent and play in Wild this incoming season so I can compare the earnings I would get playing there.
Finally, for the Guild Brawls, I can say that I've been performing fairly good with enough wins each time. I've been in this Tier 3 guild for a few months now and have been getting good rewards while playing brawls.
Another thing that I would like to focus on is my Gladiator collection. I find it harder to compete especially when I encounter that Quora Towershead which is probably the single most significant card of the Gladiator set.
It seems like the next few weeks and months would be a very busy period for Splinterlands as they kept on mentioning the release of upcoming updates like reward cards, skins, and new mini set. I'm personally getting excited as to what they would look like, especially the new cards, to see if there's a new Drakoshan in the mix.
