Today we will take a look at the various ways to play the white deck. We will go over a few battle analysis as well as share my thoughts and strategies on how we could get those dubs using the life splinter.

Match 1 Life VS Death

A classic matchup of light vs darkness. This battle is a 21 mana cost battle with the earthquake ruleset. White has some pretty solid flying cards and is usually decent in quake battles. See the battle here: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_a9321187d806f091b4aff63d4b65a4a0&ref=beerbod

My lineup starts with Mother Khala as my summoner. I have Gargoya Scrapper and Pelacor Conjurer to act as my tanks. Luminous Eagle with the reach and flying ability can attack from the second position. Truthspeaker to provide my lineup with additional armor. And for my backline offense i have 2 flying summons, Celestial Harpy and Tower Griffin.

The enemy lineup is supported by Thaddius Brood. He selected Cursed Windeku with thorns in the first position. Riftwing will act as secondary tank with its flying and scavenge ability. Tower griffin for ranged damage and death elemental for its snipe ability.

image.png

Match 1 Round 1

I have lost my gargoya scrapper in the first round. And towards the end, the riftwing has gained 1 hp. Enemy cursed Windeku has already lost 2 hp. I am still in a good position as the next round will start with earthquake damage and my lineup has all the armor protection it needs.
image.png

Match 1 Round 2

The death elemental went down at the start of the second round. The Riftwing is up to 7 hp at this point. And the tower griffin has not taken any damage yet. My pelacor conjurer still has armor remaining. The truthspeaker no longer has armor protection from the quake damage. While my celestial harpy and luminous eagle lost armor from the thorns damage of the cursed windeku which is now down to 1hp. I have a pretty good advantage entering the third round. Outnumbering my enemy 5 to 3.
image.png

Match 1 Round 3

The cursed windeku went down due to the quake damage together with my truthspeaker. With my support going down, I've lost all armor buffs. All cards left has the flying ability and will no longer be affected by the quake damage. I now have the upper hand here because I am still left with 3 attacking cards. And the opponent only has 1.

image.png

Match 1 End Game

From the fourth round it was just a clean up game. However high the rifwings hp got. All it could do is take damage. In the end, the death team only has tower griffin left and is unable to attack from the first position. My team will advance and take the victory.

Match 2 Life vs Fire

This next match is pretty exciting and can be viewed from this link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_38da3f2b8557a2b1083af977f5388b3c&ref=beerbod

It's a 28 mana pool battle with the super sneak ruleset. Whenever I face this kind of battles, I always prefer to use Shielbreaker due to it's taunt ability. This is very useful in directing all attacks on the first position and protecting my backlines.

image.png
My lineup has shield breaker for the first position tank, I also used time mage to slow down enemy heroes. Venari Crystalsmith for it's tank heal ability. My source of damage would be the Pelacor Arbalest together with herbalist buffed by the summoner General Sloan.

Opponent opted to go with Tarsa summoner and has a heavy melee damage output. Chaos Agent is used in the first, followed by Kobold Bruiser and Tenyii Stiker. He also used the Disintegrator to lower down melee damage. This has less effect on me since i went with range. To complete his lineup he went with Radiated Scorcher and Living Lava at the back.

Match 2 First Round

I had a strong first round taking out the Chaos Agent and Kobold Cruiser immediately. I was also able to reduce down the tenyii strikers damage down to 4. The time mage allowed most of my summons to attack first. And the shieldbreaker was still able to last the first round despite taking all the hits from the front.
image.png

Match 2 Second Round

The tenyii striker was removed from play early in the second round. And the disintegrator is down to 3hp with all armor destroyed by the pelacor arbalest. I have already lost my first position Shield breaker and the time mage now moves up. It is unclear who has the advantage here since the opponent still has full health radiated scorcher and living lava.

image.png

Match 2 Third Round

Due to speed advantage. The third round started with my ranged attackers eliminating the disintegrator and radiated scorcher from play. My time mage was taken out in 1 hit by the living lava which means that the venari crystalsmith moves to first position. I have a slight disadvantage because the living lava has shield ability and still has high hp despite of no armor
image.png

Match 2 End Game

With a bit of luck. The Living Lava's attacked was evaded on the fourth round by my Venari Crystalsmith. And entering the fifth round and with pelacor arbalest attacking first. It made easy work of the last red card's remaining hp.

Match 3 Life vs Life

This mirror matchup can be viewed from this link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_925e6204f36043f4beae2be1da4752e4&ref=beerbod
It's a 30 mana pool battle with armored up ruleset.

While both of us used the life splinter in this match. We both had different approaches. I used General Sloan and went with a range burst damage type of lineup. The enemy summoner is Lorna Shine with it's divine shield ability and went with a more defensive lineup.

We have the same tanks Shieldbreaker. The opponent is heavy on the support side with divine healer, venari crystalsmith, armor smith scavo hireling and for offense the cave slug. He has a total of 2 healers and 2 armor repairs. My support on the other hand is only the time mage to lower enemy speed, Venari Crystalsmith for the heal and a barrage of buffed ranged attacks coming from pelacor arbalest, xenith archer, and herbalist.

Will offense win against defense?

Match 3 Round 1

The first round ended with my shieldbreaker losing all armor and is down to 8hp. It's a battle in the front and despite my lineup dealing a lot more damage, the enemy tank still ended the round with a relatively high hp of 7 and still with 2 armor after being sustained by its supports.

image.png

Match 3 Round 2

It is still pretty even up to this point. My tank has 5 hp. enemy has 2 armor and 3hp. I might have a very slight advantage in the sense that I have a higher speed with the help of time mage. Whoever loses the tanks first will most definitely be on the losing end.
image.png

Match 3 Round 3

My higher speed summons definitely help and was able to take out the enemy shield breaker first. The divine healer is now exposed in the first position. I am not out of the water yet as the cave slug can kill my tank in 1just 1 hit in the next round.
image.png

Match 3 Round 4

I could not stress enough how big of an advantage this time mage brings into this matchup. I was able to attack first and take out the enemy's divine healer. Venari Crystalsmith of the opponent could no longer attack on the succeeding rounds. While my venari on the other hand could heal up the shieldbreaker first before it takes any damage. And at this time the opponent only has the cave slug left capable of attacking. It should be easy work from this point on/
image.png

Match 3 End Game

From the fifth round onwards, it was pretty much a replay of what happened in the 4th round. My summons would attack first, shieldbreaker gets healed by venari crystalsmith, the cave slugs damage isn't enough and my archers from the back deals more damage than the enemy could sustain. From rounds 5 6 and 7, enemy Venari Crystalsmith, Armorsmith, Scavo Hireling, and caveslug will be taken out 1 by 1 by my Pelacor arbalest, Xenith Archer and Herbalist.

Well written and nice breakdown/analysis. Sharing this on Splinterlands Digest Twitter. Cheers.

thanks so much for your feedback.. appreciate your sharing to expand my reach. :)

Good post with a great analysis. I often struggle with Life these days. Used to be my main team around Beta days.

thanks. i just get to take advantage of the meta due to the free summoners. without them i would definitely lose in life splinter.

I used to have a great combo with the Sacred Unicorn and healers but it is not always effective anymore.

I do remember those type of lineups. Pretty hard to beat.
