The horny toad never sleeps in the Splinterlands and is the only monster that can see forwards, sideways and upwards at all times on the field of battle. It is mostly use as part of the commanders squad as it always keeps an eye on your army and also sees behind enemy lines. It never close its eyes even when it sleeps and is staring through your soul to find the weakest points.
Remarkably, the horny toad uses its eyes in battles to help swallow its enemies. When it blinks the eyeballs are pushed downwards creating a bulge in the roof of the mouth. The bulge squeezes the enemy in the toad mouth down the back of the throat. Having the Reach ability it has the ability to attack from the second position of the team, strengthening the front lines. They can do that because it has a sticky and muscular tongue that allows to catch and swallow the enemy monsters at once. Unlike any other monster out there, the tongue is attached to the front of the mouth and it enables it to stick its tongue out much further, thus the ability to attack from the second position.
At upper levels having also the Poison ability it will give damage to the enemy monsters each round after the poison is applied. The poison is all over the skin of it which contains highly toxic compounds and only of few monsters can escape from it. It can jump from the second line of your army and give a deadly bite to your enemies. A real monster worth leveling it up and using with all its force and abilities.
And now let's see it in a battle. Of course the position on the battle fields will be the Second place for its reach ability. I like it to use it with the Earth or Water formation for some personal reasons as I love to put monsters based on the environments they are living in life. And for the horny toad that would be in the earthy wilderness around water.
