What's up Splinterfam! Welcome to my weekly challenge, a challenge that gives us splinterlands to test our skills as summoners and for this week the ruleset that it proposes to us is: Ferocity.
Que tal Splinterfam! Bienvenidos a mi weekly challenge, un reto que nos pone splinterlands para poner a prueba nuestras habilidades como invocadores y para esta semana la ruleset que nos propone es: Ferocity.
💢 Ferocity
In a few words, this ruleset tells us that all units on the battlefield will have the Fury ability, meaning that they will do double damage to those units that have the Taunt ability. But what is this Taunt ability?
En pocas palabras esta ruleset nos plantea que todas las unidades en el campo de batalla tendrán la habilidad Fury, es decir que harán el doble de daño sobre aquellas unidades que tengan la habilidad Taunt. Pero que es esta habilidad Taunt?
Taunt.
Monsters with the Taunt ability are units that attract all enemy attacks, it is ideal when you want all enemy attacks regardless of whether they are ranged, sneakers, opportunists or snipers to be diverted to a single unit. They are characterized by having a large amount of life and defense to become true damage sponges. Units like the Kraken, Coeurl Lurker or Dark Ha'On are a clear example.
Los monstruos con la habilidad Taunt son unidades que atraen todos los ataques de los enemigos, es ideal cuando quieres que todos los ataques enemigos sin importar si son rango, sneakers, oportunistas o snipers sean desviados a una sola unidad. Se caracterizan por tener gran cantidad de vida y defensa para convertirse en auténticas esponjas de daño. Unidades como the Kraken, Coeurl Lurker o Dark Ha´On son un claro ejemplo.
The Kraken & Coeurl Lurker & Dark Ha´On
These units tend to become a real headache, since they make you lose turns of attack while your opponent takes the initiative to wear down and eliminate the units from your lineup. But with Ferocity this situation changes since these units are exposed to receiving double damage and in this battle I am going to show you that no matter how imposing one of these units may be, they all succumb to the Ferocity ruleset. Let's get started!
Esta unidades suelen convertirse en un verdadero dolor de cabeza, ya que te hacen perder turnos de ataque mientras tu oponente toma la iniciativa de ir desgastando y eliminando las unidades de tu alineación. Pero con Ferocity esta situación cambia ya que estas unidades quedan expuestas a recibir el doble de daño y en esta batalla te voy a demostrar que no importa cuan imponente pueda ser una de estas unidades, todas sucumben a la ruleset Ferocity. Comencemos!

In this battle, in addition to having the Fury ruleset, we also have another rule that drastically modifies the battlefield and that is that only units with melee attacks can join the combat and although we can use almost all splinters except for the earth element, we must also consider that The mana limit is relatively low, so our best option here is to use the death splinter, let's see the details.
En esta batalla además de tener la ruleset Fury tenemos también otra regla que modifica drásticamente el campo de batalla y es que solo pueden unirse al combate unidades con ataques melé y aunque podemos usar casi todos los splinter a excepción del elemento tierra, debemos considerar también que el límite de mana es relativamente bajo, así que nuestra mejor opción aquí es usar el splinter de muerte, veamos los detalles.
🎴Cards/Cartas
🧙♂️Summoner/Invocador: Ilthain
We decided to use the Quix summoner to reduce the enemy's attack speed and ensure the initiative of this battle. As an extra element, there is the possibility that we will face units with combined melee/range attacks such as War Chaan or Drybone Raider, thus reducing the damage. Range is also an advantage with this summoner.
Decidimos utilizar el invocador Quix para reducir la velocidad de ataque del enemigo y asegurarnos la iniciativa de esta batalla, como elemento extra existe la posibilidad que nos enfrentemos a unidades con ataques combinados melé/rango como War Chaan o Drybone Raider por lo que reducir el daño rango también es una ventaja con este invocador.
👾 Monsters/Monstruos: Harklaw
When it comes to battles with melee units there are 2 very common strategies: use units with the thorns skill or reduce the enemy's damage with the Demoralize skill using a reinforced tank. This second option will be our choice, Harklaw not only reduces the enemy's melee damage but also has the shield ability that reinforces him against these attacks and if we also add that he is immune to afflictions we have the ideal tank for this battle.
Cuando se trata de batallas con unidades melé existen 2 estrategias muy comunes: usar unidades con la habilidad thorns o reducir el daño del enemigo con la habilidad Demoralize usando un tanque reforzado. Esta segunda opción será nuestra elección, Harklaw no solo reduce el daño melé del enemigo sino que también cuenta con la habilidad shield que lo refuerza contra estos ataques y si además añadimos que es inmune a las aflicciones tenemos el tanque ideal para esta batalla.
👾 Shadow Snitch
It is very common to encounter tanks that heal in the first position, to counteract this we will use Shadow Snitch, a support card that can attack from the second position with its Reach ability and that has the probability of nullifying the target's ability to heal with the Affliction skill.
Es muy frecuente encontrarse con tanques que se curan en la primera posición, para contrarrestar esto usaremos a Shadow Snitch una carta de apoyo que puede atacar desde la segunda posición con su habilidad Reach y que tiene la probabilidad de anular la capacidad del objetivo de curarse con la habilidad Affliction.
👾 Desintegrator
As the last unit we will use Disintegrator to add another layer of melee damage reduction on the enemy so we make sure to keep all of our opponent's physical damage to a minimum.
Como última unidad utilizaremos a Desintegrator para añadir otra capa de reducción de daño melé en el enemigo así nos aseguramos de llevar al mínimo todo el daño físico de nuestro oponente.
⚔️Strategy and battle lineup/Estrategia y alineación de batalla
Once the battle is over, we can appreciate the strategy of our opponent who opted for an option that he had not thought of, using a unit that combines melee and magic attacks, the worst possible scenario. However, this card has the Taunt ability, meaning it will receive double the damage from our units. Let's see then how this battle develops.
Una vez enviada la batalla podemos apreciar la estrategia de nuestro oponente que optó por una opción que no había pensado, usar una unidad que combina ataques melé y mágicos, l peor escenario posible. Sin embargo esta carta tiene la habilidad Taunt, es decir recibirá el doble de daño de nuestras unidades. Veamos entonces como se desarrolla esta batalla.

💥Round 1💥
In the first round Shadow Snitch manages to completely rip off the longtail Agor's shield and apply Affliction, while Harklaw manages to do up to 4 damage per hit, only now it becomes clear that it was not a good idea to use a card with Taunt under the Ferocity ruleset.
En el primer round Shadow Snitch logra arrancarle completamente el escudo al Agor longtail y aplicarle Affliction, mientras que Harklaw llega hacerle hasta 4 de daño por golpe, solo ahora se hace evidente que no fue una buena idea usar una carta con Taunt bajo la ruleset Ferocity.
💥Round 2💥
By the second round, Shadow and Harklaw's combined attack was enough to take down the great long-tailed Agor! Although we received magic damage it was not enough to eliminate our tank, but for this ruleset this battle perhaps would have been much more complicated to win.
Ya para el segundo round el ataque combinado de Shadow y Harklaw fue suficiente para dar de baja al gran Agor longtail! A pesar que recibimos daño mágico no fue suficiente para eliminar a nuestro tanque, sino fuera por esta ruleset esta batalla quizás habría sido mucho más complicada de ganar.
💥Rounds 3 & 4💥
The rest of rounds 3 and 4 is simply to eliminate the rest of the enemy units since they will not be able to do us any damage, we achieved a victory without losing any units thanks to the advantage that this ruleset offered us.
El resto de los rounds 3 y 4 es simplemente eliminar el resto de las unidades enemigas ya que no serán capaces de hacernos ningún daño, logramos una victoria sin perder ninguna unidad gracias a la ventaja que nos ofreció esta ruleset.
🐲 Conclusions/Conclusiones
- The most obvious conclusion is that it is not at all convenient to use units with Taunt if the Ferocity ruleset is present on the battlefield, even a unit as strong as Agor longtail at level 3 was not able to last more than 2 rounds. An alternative would be to use Lily Shieldpaw if what we want is for all attacks to focus on a single target.
- La conclusión más obvia es que no es para nada conveniente utilizar unidades con Taunt si en el campo de batalla esta presente la ruleset Ferocity, incluso una unidad tan fuerte como Agor longtail a nivel 3 no fue capaz de aguantar más de 2 rounds. Una alternativa sería utilizar a Lily Shieldpaw si lo que queremos es que todos los ataques se centren en un solo objetivo.

Espero que les haya gustado el post normalmente esta ruleset lo que obliga es a no utilizar unidades con Taunt así que es raro ver batallas con oponentes que la usen y ver el efecto de la ruleset en batalla, esta fue la razón por la que quise compartirles este combate.
