Hello Splinter nerds
The market hasn't been nice, but Splintershards is staying strong and refuses to dip badly like most of my other favorite tokens. BTC dipped to 88k, and I wonder how bad it can get. Are we slowly creeping back to bear season, or is it just one of those moments to scare investors into dumping their coins?
Amidst the dip, Splinterlands is still giving me joy, and I am enjoying the gameplay and the new changes we keep getting... There is bound to be a conclave arcana mini set in December, which I look forward to because during events like this, we experience pumps in the Splinterlands tokens. There won't be a difference in the upcoming one either. Many people believe sps will be the one to gain the highest pump and we all expect nothing less than 0.014, but Dec can shock us too since it is below peg. So, even with the red market, Splinterlands can still make our December memorable with pump sales.
Gorgug The Endless is one of the underrated summoners in the Conclave Arcana set. I rarely see it in battle, but this summoner is a beast when used to summon the right monsters.
It is a 4 mana card and it has two stats, the first stat is the -1 range, which affects all the range monsters in the opponent team, and the second stat is an enrage ability which is only given to monsters that share the same bloodline with it.
I think people rarely use it in battle because of Cryptic. It was created during the reign of Cryptic which didn't allow it to shine, maybe when Cryptic reign is over, Gorgug will have its glorious day too.
I was paired with Affliction today in a 3 ruleset, and my aim is to make sure Affliction doesn't rise again. hohoho
The rules of the battles were:
Blood and sunder: All units have corrosive ward, which causes -2 to the attacker's maximum armor when hit by a melee attack.
Arcane Dampening: All units have void; this rule is against the magic attackers because their attacks get reduced to 50% when their total magic power is rounded up.
Up to eleven: All units have the amplify ability, which increases the damage by retaliation and other punishment abilities like magic reflect, thorn, and return fire.
It was a low-cap battle of 15 mana, and only the water and dragon splinter were available, which limited our choice in monsters.
The opponent used Akane a dragon summoner with the ambush stats, to summon the water splinter while I used Gorgug the endless to summon the water element.
This monster was my tank, and I was not surprised that the opponent also used it. This is due to it being a 1 mana card with high health base, the abilities it has surpass the 1 mana he is, so it is often used in battle and also one of the most used cards in the modern format, while its only weakness is the weary ability that stops him from attacking at a point during the battle.
This is my second monster, also a 1 mana card with reach ability, which allows it to be able to attack from the second position, a good supporter for the halfling refugee, even though it was not able to do much in this battle, but it was a good decoy to delay the opponent in getting to my main attackers.
)Elanor costs no mana but can do some damage with her 2-range power. I used it in this battle as a decoy as well, but she strengthened the team with her strengthen ability. She was the first to go down in my team because of the opponent's water diviner with the opportunity ability.
Water Diviner is my second-to-last monster, it has an ability called Electrified which is important in this battle to activate the enrage ability in Venka the vile, this ability causes 1 health loss to the team which seems to be a disadvantage but to Venka, it is just what he needed to unleash the beast in him.
Here is my main attacker, Venka the beast with the trample ability, his attack in this battle becomes more furious with the bloodline stat from Gorgug the endless because they share the same bloodline[Orc], and without the Enrage ability gotten from the bloodline, winning might not have been possible for me, Venka did a lot of damages to the opponent team and he is the MVM of the battle.
