Surviving Collateral Damage: The Ruleset That Breaks Weak Lineups

in Splinterlands11 hours ago

Hello splinter nerds

Some rules were just added to the game, and they require patience and strategic formation to be able to win, because if one is not careful, the rule could be the reason why a player loses the battle.

One of the rules is Collateral Damage, as the name of the rule implies, this is damage that comes from the result of the player monster's action. In the Collateral Damage rule, all monsters have the reckless ability, and whenever they attack, they also deal 1 true damage to allied units adjacent to them.

When dealing with this rule, it is necessary to use monsters with a high health base so they can be able to withstand the damage of the reckless damage for long..

Another thing to put into consideration is to use monster with the painforge ability, this way the reckless damage won't be for nothing, instead it will boost the stats of those monsters with painforge, making them much stronger.

Also, when dealing with this rule, it is necessary to use certain abilities like healing, corrupted healing, triage, and life leech. Any abilities that increase the health of the monster are important, at least they give a greater chance of winning the battle.

I had a battle with Dmaan and we were given 3 rules which include the collateral Damage. The other two were:

Stampede: The trample ability can be triggered multiple times as long as the monster with the trample ability eliminates the unit it attacked.

Four's a crowd: Only 4 monsters can be summoned; it can be fewer but not more than 4.

The four's a crowd makes the rule more complicated because I have to come up with my four best units to counter the opponent team, so out of the three things I mentioned above, when dealing with the collateral damage, I opt for the number 1, which is using monsters with high health base.

We both came with our best 4, the opponent used the fire splinter while I used a dual summoner[EMP] to summon the water and life monsters.

The opponent team was strong and reliable, but check out my tactic!

My Formation

Silverblade fighter was my tank; I used it for its flank and Armor ability. The flank will allow my Mantaroth to be able to attack from the second position, and it is my main attacker with the armor strike and blast ability, and it never misses its target cos it also possesses true strike.

Bludgeon Hucker was my third monster; it has the slow and armor ability, which further protects my team from hits and also gives Manta more armor to make his armor strike more lethal. My last monster was Bera Dallin with the Taunt ability, which delays the opponent's attack on my other monsters.

It was a fierce battle, and the opponent didn't come to play. His Oridum Graybrow performed well and even resurrected once due to the Resurgence ability, but still, all that was not enough to give him victory. His team was defeated by my Mantaroth, but Manta could not have done it without the support of its team, especially with the armor.

Without the Taunt monster in my team, the opponent's tough attackers might have weakened Manta, so all the monsters I used played their role well, which gave me the desired victory.
