If you don't know I started playing Splinterlands about 4 years ago. I quit playing Splinterlands about 2 years ago. (I just needed a break from ALL the various web3 games and stuff I was doing and I took a break from HIVE). I actually took a break from HIVE all together for 2 years but it wasn't intentional. I just unpinned all my HIVE tabs and got busy with WAX and everything TACO there.
But I am back and I am grinding like never before. Before I left 2 years ago I was doing okay. I even managed to save up enough DEC and such to buy a Land Plot. However at that time we didn't know when the Land plots would go live and I saw what they were selling for and I lost my Diamond Hands and sold it for a nice chunk of crypto (I transferred it to WAX and sold it there and was quite happy).
But back to present day. My friend PVM invited me to his guild and there is a Brawl starting here in the next hour. I joined a Fray and noticed very quickly that you can only use Rebellion cards in it. So instead of waiting until the end of the season to get my season Glint rewards we are going to redeem some now and hopefully get some okay cards to battle with.
I don't want my first Brawl with my new Guild make me look bad :)
I had 1,285 Glint ready to spend which means I can buy a Rare and a few Common's already.
Also here are the Rebellion cards that I have so far from my 1st season back.
Not a lot by and stretch, but also PVM delegated me some cards because he is the GOAT!
Here are the ones he has delegated to me.
Without further ado let's spend 750 Glint on a Rare Card.
First card is a: Janni Rebel
I LOVE this card because of it's 2 powers.
FLANK: When in the first position, the unit in the second position gains Reach.
INSPIRE: +1 Melee Power to all allied units.
That fits well into my playstyle so this is a total win!
Next Card is: well actually the next 2 cards I got were both "Mar Toren Trader"
Range card with low health but low mana so they are okay cards.
My 4th card is: Broken Earth Thug
Opportunity is a power I am familiar with and am starting to use properly so this is a win!
Now I was just shy of getting a 5th card so I went to battled to get more Glint. Lost the 1st battle but won the 2nd and 3rd and now with enough Glint to buy another common card what will I get?
None other than another 'Mar Toren Trader' lol I will take it.
With those cards let's look back and see what Rebellion cards I now own.
I may not be as ready as I wanted for this Brawl. But I am going to give my opponents Hell either way! Because PVM told me that when you participate in Brawls you earn Merit and then you can buy something called a "Gladius Case" which holds 5 cards in it. So Gladius... you will be mine shortly!
