Months ago I talked about the new "Survival Mode" that the "Splinterlands" team had planned to make the game more fun, this with the objective that old and/or new players will be attracted again to fight in the hard and rough battlefields all over Praetoria, well it turns out that this new game mode is already live and after the update happens, we can finally play this new battle mode that has many players excited, including me of course.
So, in this publication what I want to do is to show you how to prepare to play in this new mode so that it does not take you by surprise, so I will tell you what it is about and what you should do, since this game mode is not the typical one we play in the conventional formats of "Modern and Wild", where we need pre-established strategies, with fairly clear alignments to win most of the battles.
So, without further ado, let's take a look at what you need to keep in mind to play this new game mode:
What is Survival Mode and what do we need to play it?
The "Survival Mode" is a new frenetic game mode in which we can use all the existing cards in the game to play, we do not have any type of restriction of use as it happens for example in the "Modern Format" in which we can only use the cards of the last 2 editions (CL and RB), on the other hand, in the "Wild" we can use all the cards, but, we must pay a season pass to do it.
However, in the "Survival Mode", there is no restriction of any kind, but, this does not make it an easy game mode, since we need more than alienations as I had commented before, so, we must be very careful in how we proceed, because what happens to us in this game mode, can affect us a lot in the rest of the modes, so, knowing this and how it works, now let's see what is needed to be able to play.
What do we need to play?
Pay close attention, because what I will discuss here will help you prepare yourself before jumping into this new game mode without knowing the consequences, which, as I mentioned in the previous paragraphs, so how can you prepare yourself? Well, read on...
Survival Mode is not based on battle alignments which, although we do have to think rationally about strategies to play as usual, the cards that are defeated playing in this mode, we will not be able to use them for a certain cooldown period, which will depend on the rarity of the card, so, you must already be sensing that, collections at this point is the most important thing in this game mode.
As collections are the most important thing, and if every card that dies you can't use it, the right way to prepare is to have several copies of each of the cards you own in your deck, this to ensure that you stay active in the rest of the formats without affecting your play in Modern, Wild, Tournaments and Guild Wars.
As this game mode is focusing on collections, you need to expand your horizon beyond just 2 or 3 SETS of cards, in fact, you need to look for the cheapest possible editions, such as "Chaos Legion", Beta, Alpha to have a lot of cards and achieve a balance between decks.
How can you assemble the decks?
Well, it is very simple, as I said before, what you have to do is to increase your collection, by doing this, you will avoid important losses in your deck that very possibly will prevent you from playing in the rest of the game modes, so, if you don't have a very big collection with copies of several of your SETS, this could result in losses of rewards during the whole season.
But what would be the best strategy to build these decks? Read on, because I can think of several alternatives to solve this problem of card copies:
Deck building strategy
Rental: This is the easiest, if you do not have many copies of your own SETS of cards and no capital available to go shopping for many of them, the alternative of "Renting" is always available, since it usually requires much less investment than buying them, although, some of the cards would probably be better to buy them than renting them. In any case, this renting should be done for several copies of the same cards, this to avoid the problem I mentioned before, besides going for cheaper editions (Chaos Legion, Untamed, BETA).
Maximum 3 SETS: Clearly, focusing on all editions can be complicated, since you need a good investment, whether you are renting or not, so it is best to focus on a maximum of 3 SETS, which I mentioned in the previous paragraph, you can focus on building decks in the "Peakmonsters" platform that focus on these editions, with several copies of each card, I would say at least 3 per card, with this, you could be prepared to play in the "Survival Mode".
Note: Even so, this strategy could be more complicated than that because we do not have a real limit of games as in conventional formats, the limits in survival mode are given by the cards themselves, and if, for example, you dedicate yourself to play from 2 to 4 hours, imagine the amount of cards that will die in battle and that you will not be able to use for a certain period of time. So, progress here is all about trial and error.
Conclusion
I hope to have clarified a little bit the doubts of the players in this new game mode that is about to be launched, thinking well how it would work could be complicated for many, but, this is precisely what makes it interesting, since many will be limited so, the rewards could be distributed in a few, I mean the SPS and GLINTS. So, it could be worth this.

Hace meses que hable sobre el nuevo “Modo de Supervivencia” que tenía planeado el equipo de “Splinterlands” para volver más divertido el juego, esto con el objetivo de que viejos jugadores y/o nuevos se vean atraídos de nuevamente para luchar en los duros y bastos campos de batalla de toda Praetoria, pues resulta que este nuevo modo de juego ya está en vivo y después de que ocurra la actualización, podremos por fin jugar este nuevo modo de batalla que tiene a muchos jugadores emocionados, incluyéndome por supuesto.
Así que, en esta publicación lo que quiero hacer es mostrarles de qué manera preparase para jugar en este nuevo modo para que no les tome por sorpresa, así que les comentare de que trata y que es lo que deben hacer, ya que, este modo de juego no es el típico que jugamos en los formatos convencionales de “Moderno y Salvaje”, en donde necesitamos estrategias preestablecidas, con alineaciones medianamente claras para lograr ganar la mayoría de las batallas.
Entonces, sin más nada que decir, veamos qué es lo que se debe tener en cuenta para jugar en este nuevo modo de juego:
¿Qué es el Modo Supervivencia y que necesitamos para poder jugarlo?
El “Modo Supervivencia” es un nuevo modo de juego frenético en el que podremos utilizar todas las cartas existentes en el juego para jugar, no tenemos ningún tipo de restricción de uso como sucede por ejemplo en el “ Formato Moderno” en el que solo podemos usar las cartas de las ultimas 2 ediciones (CL y RB), por otro lado, en el “Salvaje” podemos utilizar todas las cartas, pero, debemos pagar un pase de temporada para hacerlo.
Sin embargo, en el “Modo Supervivencia”, no hay ningún tipo de restricción, pero, esto no lo convierte en un modo de juego fácil, ya que necesitamos más que alienaciones como había comentado anteriormente, así que, debemos tener mucho cuidado en como procedemos, porque lo que nos pase en este modo de juego, nos puede afectar mucho en el resto de los modos, así que, sabiendo esto y cómo funciona, ahora veamos qué es lo que se necesita para poder jugar.
¿Que necesitamos para jugar?
Presten mucha atención, porque lo que comentare aquí les servirá para preparase antes de lanzarse a jugar este nuevo modo de juego sin conocer las consecuencias, que, como ya mencioné en los párrafos anteriores, así que ¿De qué manera puedes prepararte? Pues sigue leyendo…
El Modo Supervivencia no se basa en las alineaciones de batalla que, aunque si tenemos que pensar de manera racional en estrategias para jugar como siempre, las cartas que sean derrotadas jugando en este modo, no podremos usarlas por un periodo de enfriamiento determinado, el cual dependerá de la rareza de la carta, así que, ya deben de estar intuyendo que, las colecciones en este punto es lo más importante en este modo de juego.
Como las colecciones es lo más importante, y si cada carta que muere no puedes usarla, la forma correcta de prepararte es tener varias copias de cada una de las cartas que posees en tu mazo de cartas, esto para asegurar de que te mantengas activo en el resto de los formatos sin afectar tu juego en “Moderno, Salvaje, torneos y la guerra de gremios”.
Como se está enfocando este modo de juego en las colecciones, necesitas expandir tu horizonte más allá de solo 2 o 3 SETS de cartas, de hecho, necesitas buscar las ediciones más económicas posibles, como “Chaos Legion”, Beta, Alpha para tener muchas cartas y lograr un equilibrio entre mazos.
¿Cómo puedes armar los mazos?
Pues es muy sencillo, como dije anteriormente, lo que tienes que hacer es aumentar tu colección, haciendo esto, evitaras pérdidas importantes en tu mazo que muy posiblemente te impedirán jugar en el resto de los modos de juego, por lo que, si no tienes una colección muy grande con copias de varios de tus SETS, esto podría resultar en pérdidas de recompensas durante la temporada completa.
Pero ¿Entonces cuál sería la mejor estrategia para armar estos mazos? Sigue leyendo, porque se me ocurren varias alternativas para poder solventar este problema de las copias de las cartas:
Estrategia para armar mazos
Alquiler: Esto es lo más sencillo, si no posees muchas copias de tu propios SETS de cartas y sin capital disponibles para salir de compras por muchas de ellas, la alternativa de “Alquiler” siempre está disponible, ya que por lo general se requiere de mucha menos inversión que comprándolas, aunque, algunas de las cartas seguramente serian mejor comprarlas que alquilarlas. En todo caso, este alquiler debe realizarse por varias copias de las mismas cartas, esto para evitar el problema que comente anteriormente, ademas de ir por ediciones más baratas (Chaos Legion, Untamed, BETA).
Máximo 3 SETS: Claramente enfocarte en todas las ediciones puede ser complicado, ya que, se necesita de una buena inversión, estes alquilando o no, por lo que, lo mejor es enfocarse en máximo 3 SETS, los cuales ya mencioné en el párrafo anterior, puedes enfocarte en armar mazos en la plataforma de “Peakmonsters” que se enfoquen en estas ediciones, con varias copias de cada carta, diría que al menos 3 por carta, con esto, podrías estar preparado para jugar en el “Modo Supervivencia”.
Nota: Aun así, esta estrategia podría ser más complicado que eso debido a que no tenemos un límite de partidas real como sucede en los formatos convencionales, los limites en el modo supervivencia vienen dado por las mismas cartas, y si, por ejemplo, te dedicas a jugar de 2 a 4 horas, imagina la cantidad de cartas que morirán en batalla y que no podrás utilizar durante un periodo de tiempo determinado. Así que, el avanzar aquí se trata de ensayo y error.
Conclusión
Espero haber aclarado un poco las dudas de los jugadores en este nuevo modo de juego que está próximo a lanzarse, pensando bien como funcionaria podría ser complicado para muchos, pero, es esto precisamente lo que lo hace interesante, ya que muchos estarán limitados por lo que, las recompensas podrían ser repartidas en unos pocos, me refiero a los SPS y los GLINTS. Así que, podría valer la pena esto.
