Greetings Splinterlovers šŸ’š

Splinterlands is a TCG-style card game based on blockchain technology that offers real rewards for in-game items. Of course, this is nothing new at this point. In fact, in the current ecosystem, this gaming narrative is no longer as popular, although it has grown. I say this because when I started, I didn't know many of the things I know now, not only about cryptocurrencies but also about Splinterlands in general. Despite the changes that have been made over the years, the way you can progress hasn't changed much, nor has the way you learn, but for someone new, this can be really overwhelming.

That's why I want to change things up a bit and share in this post what I would do if I were just starting out in Splinterlands. In fact, all of these recommendations can basically be applied to any cryptocurrency project, but in this case, I'll just focus on the game because that's what we're talking about here. this is very important for anyone who wants to learn beyond Splinterlands, and I sincerely hope to help more than one person in the cryptocurrency market.

So, if you want to learn about all this, how to get started, you're new and don't know what to do, stick with this post, because I'm sure it will be very useful to you.

Where to start in the Splinterlands ecosystem and what to do?

Well, before going through the step-by-step process of what I would do to learn and accelerate progress, it is important to first research the game (system) to ensure that everything works properly, as well as the project's main tokens, in this case DEC and SPS. You can easily find all this information on the game's official website or on external tools such as "Coingecko, Coinmarketcap,ā€ among others. There you will see the liquidity of the tokens, the volume, and all these details, as well as how long it has been operating.

This is important before you delve into the ecosystem itself. After this, I'm sure you'll want to dive in deeper, since this is a long-standing project with plans to continue for the very long term. With that clear, let's move on to how to get started and what you need to do to speed up the whole process:

How to get started? This is the first thing I would do.

  • Campaign mode: Before investing and wanting to explore the game in greater depth, the first thing I would do is go to "Campaign Mode," which offers me a free and uncomplicated gaming experience, as well as giving me tangible rewards that I can sell if I want to. This is important for a novice player who is just entering the ecosystem, since the idea is to try and, most importantly, learn. What better way than this mode, where you practically get lessons on how to play?

  • Frontier format: The next thing I would do after completing all the stages of Book 1 in "Campaign Mode" would be to move on to "Frontier" mode, where the difficulty is much higher, as the decks are what are known as "Mirror" decks. This means that we all play with the same cards, so the ingenuity, strategies, and/or combinations we apply are what will stand out in the game. This is where you will truly learn how to play in a much more competitive environment, not to mention that you will also receive rewards, so this would undoubtedly be the most logical step.

Note: Once you have enough experience in both game modes (Campaign and Frontier), it's time to level up. This time, if we want to earn rewards for battles won and much more, we have to commit to learning much more about gameplay, gaining experience, and investing our capital more seriously in the ecosystem. To do this, I would do the following:

Things to consider when "investing" to earn more rewards

  • Invest in SPS to obtain a multiplier that will allow you to earn SPS and GLINT for each battle won.

  • Invest in and build a competitive deck of cards, generally from the most recent editions of the game played in the "Modern Format" (Rebellion and Conclave Arcana). You can buy or rent it, but you must manage it properly if you decide to rent.

  • Join a "Guild," preferably one that is as competitive as possible, since this is a game mode where the biggest and best players battle each other in teams to win rewards.

This is more than enough for you to consider what you need to delve deeper into the game. Of course, each of these aspects requires its own post, but if you want me to really cover this, leave a comment on this post.

What tools do I use and should I use if I'm just starting out in Splinterlands?

There are many tools that can be used to learn, improve your experience, and accelerate your progress. That is precisely what I will explain in this section: which tools I would use to start the game and how I would do it:

  • Use MonsterMarket, Elmo-burns and Peakmonsters: These three tools are essential for player growth and progress, especially because we will use them to interact with the market and obtain benefits while using them. For example, the first two offer cashback for every purchase we make. In the second, Elmo-Burns, you can earn rewards depending on the volume you move. On the other hand, Peakmonsters" helps you with rentals, which can be managed automatically with some settings, while you can also build "Decks" with specific cards, either to buy or rent.

  • Learn with ā€œSplinterguideā€: Splinterguide is a platform where you can learn about the cards, how to combine them, what their rules are, and analyze the possible combinations that can exist between the rules or modifiers and the cards. It's a great platform with lots of useful information, but the downside is that it hasn't been updated to include the new edition of "Conclave Arcana." However, you can still use it to learn about combinations, which is basically its strong point.

  • You must play: With all this information that you can obtain in campaign mode, Frontier mode, and the other game modes, what I would do to gain more experience would be to play non-stop, at least until your energy runs out and can recover. This will allow you to create many strategies and improve your gameplay without a doubt.

Conclusion

All of this is basically what I would do when starting out in the game. Of course, there are many more things and details that I haven't covered in this post so as not to make it too long, but if you want a second part or at least more specific step-by-step instructions on how to do it, please leave a comment on this post.

My intention is to guide you along a simpler path with fewer obstacles so that you can learn about both the gameplay and the game's economy. In any case, if you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them.

With nothing further to add, until next time, "Splinterlords."

I invite everyone to join Splinterlands, the best game based on chains of blocks, full of adventures, battles, and strategies where you will have fun and get rewards according to your league
