Besides Survival Mode, many people have probably noticed that a lot of Splinterlands Validators have been promoting themselves lately. At first, I didn’t pay much attention, but after taking a closer look at what they were saying, I realized it actually has something to do with me. Why? Because I have a License.
A long time ago, I was already aware of the Validator Plan. Back then, Licenses weren’t cheap—the later you bought one, the more expensive it would be. But as the market entered a bear phase, people just stopped talking about it, and the price dropped to an unimaginable level. That’s another story.
I once thought about running my own Validator and putting my LICENSE to use. I didn’t think it would be too difficult, but I wasn’t confident that I could keep it running long-term. So instead, I chose to stake my License to PeakMonsters. I’m sure a lot of people are familiar with PeakMonsters—I use it all the time to buy, sell, and rent cards. Because of that, I have no doubts about its ability to keep running. I just want to play the game without worrying too much. Of course, many other Validators have also made great contributions to the HIVE ecosystem or are experts in their fields.
As for what impact the Validator service going online will have, it’s hard to tell for now. Personally, I think we’ll have a clearer picture in about a year.
