The entire thing now pretty much is an experiment and mostly just some people that hold a coin and want to see it go up in value over time. If anything, it's all quite entertaining to see how it all will play out over time.

Crypto isn't nearly as novel or experimental as people think it is. Its a new medium for the same old failed ideas. We've had plutocracies and direct democracies before. Neither worked. We've had fixed money supplies before and they haven't worked. These ideas have been fetishized and now a whole new group of autists get to play around with it in a less consequential medium. What they're all going to find though is that it still doesn't work. We should be looking toward the things that have worked.
