RE: The best time to buy cards is now

in Splinterlands4 years ago

There is no "link". You just go on LeoDex (and I'm assuming TribalDex is the same) and search "Chaos". The packs will show up for you to buy on the market, just like any other Hive token.

The only difference between buying packs on HIVE and buying them on Splinterlands, besides the price, is that the packs you buy on HIVE do NOT count towards your pack number for future airdrops. In other words, if you bought 500 packs on Splinterlands and 800 packs on HIVE, only the 500 would count towards getting the future airdropped cards. Whoever originally bought the packs and is selling them to you on HIVE is the one who gets credit for the pack purchases.

I see, so buying on hive engine you are just betting on the value of the pack or the cards to go up.

Yeah, you can either buy and hold the packs to sell for (hopefully) higher prices down the road, or you can just buy them, move them to Splinterlands, and then open them there. Everything about them is the same except, like I said, they don't count towards your pack number for future airdrops.

For me, if I buy anymore packs, I'll probably do it on HIVE while they're cheaper. I've reached a number on the full price packs that I don't need to add anymore so why not take advantage of the cheaper prices. The last airdrop required 500 packs to get 1 "guaranteed" airdrop card. I'm at a nice round number so I'd have to buy another 500 packs to hit the next level. I've basically maxed my Chaos deck so I don't plan on buying many/any more packs so, if I do, I'll probably go with the cheaper ones.

that's so cool. I have a tiny collection and still trying to learn to play bronze in chaos. I can't see myself going beyond that but maybe if I get addicted to game play

Are the cards I delegated you helping at all?

I'm not really sure. I haven't been able to play this week but I've won many battles with them. But also lost a ton. It's really hard for me to figure out the best line ups. When I try to use brute force I lose. I'm going to play a lot this weekend and try to level up for the new season.

I think bronze is the hardest. I have the same cards, and I can sometimes barely win in bronze, yet do much better in silver. I only play with level 2 summoners and some gold. Honestly if you want to win - I would really look into renting a 1 bcx mylor for a few days. It win so many matches - thorns are hard to beat in bronze league given the low health.

Yeah, I've got a couple land plots, too. From what I've read, it seems like you'll need good cards to run those as well so I just decided I'd try and max my Chaos deck so I'm prepared for that when the time comes. Hopefully it's not a bad decision... :-)

98% of the bad decisions made in crypto were to sell.... as long as I ignore the 6 month period of trying to join node pools on sketchy sites.

I think if you buy and hold, over time your collection will rise in value. They seem to keep finding ways to add value for collectors.
