Look Who is Back

Things have been pretty quiet lately, so I decided to dive back into the Modern format for a change. To my surprise, there are quite a few new cards featuring fresh abilities and skills. These got me excited and got me hooked into the game again.

The last time I was active, the game felt completely different. I mostly had Rebellion cards, which were easily crushed, so I decided to strengthen my arsenal by adding some Conclave Arcana cards.

The Dynamic Dozen

With a tight budget in mind, I have to be careful about how I allocate my resources to maximize my progress in the game. To get the most from my investment, I decided to purchase 12 Conclave Arcana cards. These chosen cards I believe have the potential to significantly boost my deck’s strength and help me climb to the highest level possible.

After a week of intense and challenging battles, I have successfully reached the Silver III league. It’s been a rewarding experience testing my skills and strategies against tough opponents, and this achievement motivates me to keep pushing forward and climb even higher in the rankings.

Silver III League

My Most Memorable Match

In just one week, I played countless matches (or maybe I’m just too lazy to keep track), but nothing compares to the thrill I experienced in this particular game. This match stood out from all the rest, delivering an unforgettable rush of excitement and challenge that still sticks with me.

I was disheartened when I saw that I was playing against a level 2 opponent with upgraded cards.

Elegant Elves' Execution

Bloodline Dominion

Execution

You can summon any unit of the same bloodline as this archon, regardless of element.

If a successful attack reduces a target’s health to 2 or less, the attacker gets to strike the same target again.

The abilities Bloodline Dominion and Execution truly fascinated me with their unique effects and strategic potential. My summoner can employ any unit of the same bloodline regardless of element (It feels like upgraded dual element summoners in the Rebellion).

That’s why I decided to go with an (almost) all-elves team to get the most out of my summoner’s and monsters’ abilities. Sticking to elves helps everything work together better and makes my lineup stronger in battle.

Summoner

Kaylia Silverleaf

I picked Kaylia Silverleaf because she’s great for my elves in the team. Her Bloodline Dominion gives my Elf monsters the powerful Execute ability, letting them attack extra times to finish off weak enemies. She also lowers the enemy’s magic attack, which helps protect my monsters.

Tank

Endless Ape

Endless Ape is the only non-Elf in the line up. I chose him because he is a tough monster with high health, making it durable in battle. It has the Scavenger ability, which lets it gain extra health every time a monster on the battlefield is defeated, helping it get even stronger as the fight goes on. These abilities make Endless Ape a reliable tank that can absorb a lot of damage and last longer to protect my team.

Second Liner

Thanalorian Archer

I chose Thanalorian Archer as my second liner because of his Lookout ability. This ability helps protect my other monsters by reducing damage they take from sneaky attackers like those with Sneak, Snipe, or Opportunity.

Third Liner

Silverleaf Warlock

Although I have a level 2 Silverleaf Warlock (with Swiftness ability, which could have made him more formidable), my summoner is still at level 1. Without this ability, I mainly relied on the Warlock’s strong magic attack and increased speed to outpace opponents and deal consistent damage.

Fourth Liner

Silverleaf Ranger

I chose Silverleaf Ranger as one of my monsters because of her Double Strike ability, which allows her to attack twice each turn and greatly boost her damage output. However, she also comes with the Weary (meaning she can become Exhausted and skip turns as the battle goes on). Despite this downside, her offensive power makes her a valuable asset to my team.

Semi-Back Liner

Anachron Bolter

I picked Anachron Bolter as my semi-backliner because he can attack with both magic and ranged attacks, which makes him lethal in battle. Being an Elf, he works well with Kaylia Silverleaf, whose Execution ability lets Elf monsters make extra attacks to finish off enemies. Together, they form a strong combo that can quickly take down opponents.

Backliner

Blackmoor Wild Elf

I chose Blackmoor Wild Elf as my backliner because of her magic attack and Camouflage ability, which makes her harder for enemies to target. This helps her survive longer and deal steady damage throughout the battle. Plus, she’s an Elf, which fits well with my overall lineup.

THE RESULTS

Earlier, I mentioned that I felt disheartened when I realized I was playing against a level 2 opponent with upgraded cards. I skipped the battle but was surprised to find out that I had won the match. This motivated me to replay the game, and I was thrilled to watch how the battle unfolded.

Despite being at level 1 and facing a tougher enemy, my carefully chosen lineup managed to win the game. This victory showed that strategy and skill can sometimes overcome differences in card levels.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I hope you find Splinterlands as exciting and enjoyable as I have. Until my next blog, happy Wednesday!
