Making the move from a Silver to a Gold deck

Its quite funny when you know in your heart something is happening but you don't have the facts to back it up you can ignore it, unfortunately I now have the facts! I downloaded a great tool from Beaker007, a tool to show my splinterlands play statistics and its clear after just half a season that I need to improve my collection (or skill) to see progress in my ranked play.

Over the first few days of the season my deck took me pretty smoothly to the top of the silver leader board, I hardly played ranked last season so had dropped back from gold leader board, but as you can see the plateau in low gold is quite obvious.

There are two ways to change this as I said, improve collection or improve skill, while I would love to say the second is easy, its not really and if there is one thing that the ongoing Splinterlands Grand Prix is showing max level cards are a massive advantage even if you don't know what half of them do!

So lets have a look at what cards I have above silver level in my modern collection.

image.pngimage.pngimage.png

Quite telling! 13 Rare cards (two of which are Janni Rebel!) 5 Epic and 1 Legendary and everything but the Baron Fyatt is a reward card.

This is not unexpected, I always aimed to max out my collection at silver and most of my cards are sitting at that level and my investment recently has been in land.

But where do I start if I want to move up to Gold level caps? it isn't cheap to move up from Silver to Gold!

Archon's

My favoured archons are quite obvious from the stats but this could be driven in part by the level of my legendary archons.

image.png
The Win/Loss count only includes modern ranked in the above but its apparent I favour Elias Max Pruitt and it seems to work for me, well 62.65% of the time, so perhaps its time to build from there. The first two legendary Conclave Arcana Archons are also in the same elements so if I tke the approach of building a Life/Water collection to Gold that could be a good place to start.

Taking EMP to level 3 will need 2cc and cost me about $30.00, should probably look at levelling one or both of Chuul and Zeddica to give me other colour options to begin with which would be another $15-$30 and that's $60 before we start on units! Yes, I could rent but I want to own my cards...

I also need to consider time, Would I be better concentrating on Conclave Arcana cards? does that put me at a disadvantage currently but an advantage when the next modern rotation occurs? in which case do I look at Razi and Kaylia instead? Which would cost around $40 but would also give me some conflict points for future airdrops.

Unit's

What we do here is the real problem, rule sets can warrant any number of different units so I think the best thing to do is see what's being played at the top end of the gold leader board and look at some of the most common cards.

Not really helping, so many variations on teams, could do with a modern tier list from someone!

From the SPL Statistics tool these are the cards im winning with most, so its got to be worth upgrading those, right?

Plenty of things to think about, any recommendations on what to do with my deck greatly appreciated!

I hope that pays off for you in the future mate! :)

Thanks, it will be a slow build up but we’ll see where it takes me

I got a very similar curve...

Mostly skill but a better deck would help 🤣

glad to see I'm not the only one!😂
