Chaos Legion will bring some new cards to the game. Also, my account is still able to do a lot of the new quest. That is why this account will still giveaway cards. This was the last one and the winner of that was.

This week I want to know what you think of the plan to do PreOrders for the general sale. Check out my video in this post. I know many didn't want to join a pool for a presale but now if you order one for a general sale you get to cut the line. @marcuswahl should be doing another one watch for info.

Include your in-game name if it is different from your hive account.

Here is the card you can win. Twilight Basilisk gets a stun that makes it a good card

Count me in! IGN @ulizeba

I won't preorder, as I'll just sell my vouchers and buy cards directly. I don't like the whole RNG stuff.

I'm pretty lacking in DEC and Hive to be able to purchase any packs so I'm just holding out on future events I can hopefully buy-in on! Thanks for the giveaways :D

thanks for everything you do in the community ign is the same as here agin ty

First, I really dislike the idea of letting large purchase cut the line so to speak. It really is a disservice to anyone just getting into the game like myself. It makes me feel like there's very little chance for a newcomer to succeed, especially after they've already handicapped new players with nerfed rewards. You could have your next whale just starting out, but if they don't feel the value is there for them to spend, they're gonna go elsewhere.

That said, if I decide to keep playing, joining a pool may be the only way I could possibly get chaos packs.

From a business perspective it makes complete sense. Thats guaranteed sales right off the bat. I can understand why many don't like it, but personally I feel like everyone will have a chance to at least get a few packs, though they may miss on some airdrop chances. But if one were concerned they could've been staking sps, or can purchase a voucher from the market..or if they are worried of packs selling out completely, they are double the price but you can get them now at least!

Cheers

I think the preorders are fine since it guarantees that many people buy it. I am concerned about people who are new in the game. They really dont know much and dont know anyone to trust in the general pool. @project10back

I am already in a pool for general sale. Don't want to miss out in case they sell fast.

Something about it just feels off, from a company standpoint, guarenteed dollars upfront sounds really awesome for them right? I fear the quick and complete sellout and nothing left for the small guys.

Thanks for everything mang!

I'm not a fan of it. It is understandable if someone wants to buy a lot, then they get a discount, but we are talking here about an online game, where the team didn't want to interfere in:

  • DEC pricing (if it rises, let it rise)
  • Card prices be on the market as they are
  • Renting prices, even though they introduced the EOS rule (which makes sense), but let the renters do what their want for profit, and did nothing to regulate it (fortunately a lot of card holders are fair if you are a long time renter)
  • Bots are fine

Now from this mindset I would not expect them to announce a "pre-sale", with the excuse that we will make pooling available, so it does not scream like pre-sale.
If there would be no pre-sale we could still get screwed by bots flooding the market and buying up the packs (well it can be both eventually), but now I know that there will be people who will get the packs before me.
They should have tried to find a decentralized way to facilitate this.

The second issue here is the poor communication:

  • The news was that they will to a voucher system and then they will see
  • 2 weeks later it was another round of vouchers
  • 1 week later it is an optional pre-sale for big buyers.
This just sucks out the fun of waiting for and opening pack, which let's be honest is one of the biggest joys in these card games. So I'm very unhappy with these decisions.

On the other hand I don't believe all 15.000.000 packs will be sold in minutes, as that would cost at least 45.000.000 USD (with a 25% discount), and I don't believe we are talking about so much money on the table. So I'm hoping I can buy packs, or even better, earn them in daily quest rewards (with the 1% chance) until all are sold out.

This could have been a blogpost...

Yh, I am now considering joining a pool for for the general sale of the expansion, although I don't know if I can with just buying ~10–20 CL packs. Maybe some of my thinking is due to FOMO, but I don't think that pooling charges more so I don't see any harm done—just added effort from myself.

I do understand the decision from a business perspective, BUT I also personally believe that the community itself, even without the participation of these large guilds, can fully sell out the general sale in a matter of days.

Am not opposed to pre-sales, but am opposed very much to vouchers being needed for that. just makes packs expensive beyond reason

Thanks for the giveaways

I am trying to collect at least 50 Chaos Legion pack; there are many ways, but comparing with those methods, I don't think I can do it. I already put some money into splinterlands but I would like to take a break.

I don't like the pre-order plan, because again it focuses on whales and rich people getting the biggest piece of the pie while new players get left behind.
Even if it's with the intention of bringing in new players from multi-gaming guilds, it will mean that they, new few whales, will get all the packs and cards and new players will have to rent and own nothing, spend more and more money just to keep up.
I thought their plan was to have packs last a year, I'll be surprised if general sales lasts much longer than even a single day..
@summoner-cha

I personally don't like the the idea of joining a pool myself, but, that's because I don't like the remedies offered for giving up my card airdrop chances. Again, that's just me though.

Thanks for the info but i think i'll earn bit by bit before going into packs buying ,IGN is the same.

Since I have no vouchers, I plan to buy 2 or 3 packs at full price.
@jhuleader

I would love to join these pre order pools to save extra money but I only have $5 in my bank account at the moment.

I'm frustrated the whole roll out is so complicated. It's a game based on card packs. SO sell card packs. Too many ways to work the system. Thanks for the giveaway. @squishna

While not a fan of this whole "private sale" thing, I am definitely considering joining a pool - partly FOMO, partly because I want to be sure I don't miss general sale through real life commitments.

I am a bit worried about super-users hoovering up the supply and the possibilities for getting duped. Then again you have to be in it to win it! I really don't know how to feel but I feel as a player with my resources I will never really be on the winning end of this stick! Just playing the game, getting some cards and having a bit of fun will do for me!

its ok to limit the supply i guess

Something that i need to have a better look at, might be worth it
