Introduction/Concerns

Hey guys, here is my post where I spend some time talking about Carrion Shade for the splinterlands weekly challenge, I started playing recently and while in bronze league make this post after watching some of my favourite splinterlands streamers talk about using posting content to the hive blockchain to help grow your account.

Challenge

The challenge posted by SPLINTERLANDS is to use Carrion Shade, a common death unit from the Chaos legion set. I don't own the card and use the level 1 version that is available to everyone.

    Pro's
  • Unit only has a cost of 1 mana meaning its easy to slot him into most teams as a backline target or in the first position as a cheap tank
  • Later on he will gain the flying ability which means he can hopefully dodge an attack

Battle

The mana pool for the fight was 16 and at novice and bronze levels, no extra modifiers.

Lineup
Tank
I decided to try my strategy of using CARRION SHADE as a tank and stack my backline with units to hopefully get clear some of my opponents backline before he died.
Position 2
I used SILENT SHA-VI after my tank as he is fast, good HP and has the sneak ability to hopefully eliminate the enemies last unit before replacing CARRION SHADE as our tank.
Position 3
Next is DEATH ELEMENTAL who also has good speed, and casts magic meaning we don’t have to worry about armour not a lot of health but his snipe ability means he can also hopefully hurt the enemies backline.

Position 4
Lastly I played a LIFE SAPPER as he also does magic damage and his life leech ability I was hoping he would gain enough HP in case he eventually was our last card.

Battle Result

The battle lasted only 3 rounds with SILENT SHA-VI and DEATH ELEMENTAL doing good work on either side of the enemy’s backline.

Although CARRION SHADE did die in the first round, the opponent was left with REGAL PERYTON who was unable to cope with our line up.

Summary

In summary I was happy with line up we put out, I think the enemy team wasn't a good match up against us.

Any comments or feedback on my strategy, tips for new players or blogging is appreciated.
