Hello everyone!
I decided to write a quick post about what I have found interesting about Splinterlands, even though you can feel the influence of Hearthstone in the game, I would say Splinterlands has a more interesting fast paced action game.
Some abilities from Hearthstone like divine shield transfer healthily to this game. If more are added, they are more than welcome.
I enjoy the varying mana cap from match to match, really makes you manage your resources.
From the point above, this is when epic and legendary cards get out of balance, they become more efficient due to the amount of abilities each card has by itself, so a limit in rarity depending on mana cap should be looked at. (Cant begin to count the times one single epic or legendary card wiped out all my monsters).
Really there is no way to earn packs, you need to pay gold coins or DEC. A feature to earn packs should be added, scarcity of packs should be something to balance but accesible. (A new player wont be interested if he cant discover new cards or finds the entry point to hard, a starting cushion should help).
No expectations to earn new things by climbing the ranks, you have to wait until season ends.
Deck building should be encouraged so more strategies develop within each splinter. (Decks a user can make depending on possible mana ranges he could be given)
And that is all! I’ll keep writing my findings as I keep playing.

Glad you are playing the game. You can use DEC to buy a pack it cost 2000. I am sure it seems far away but once you get to even gold 3 you can earn that in a few days. That might be to slow. I agree. I do know that this game does require a lot of time or at least one big investment to play in the top leagues but I can get an account with level 5 cars to diamond 1 or champ 3 playing each day. At that level I earn 6k to 10k DEC and get a lot of cards from questing.
Yes! At bronze earnings look very sad, even worthless. Im currently at silver 1 and got some DEC now but Im definetly stuck there until I get more cards and take on the people at gold III. Sadly it is a slow climb even with the recent season rewards I got 4 cards and mostly potions. Ill try to be consistent though!
have you looked into renting cards on @peakmonsters ? It is very cheap right now. It another way to get to higher leagues to earn more.
Didnt now that actually, thought only buying or selling but I will definitely check it out!
Ya the rental market is a nice way to get a few higher level cards
One thing the game needs to make clearer, is that DEC earnings climb exponentially with ranking/level. Too many people make 0.004 DEC in their first couple of matches; do the maths and assume they'll need to play 1000 matches to earn enough to buy a new card.
Yes, it starts slow, but if you can make it to Champion, you can expect to win 50-100 DEC per match. (When many rewards edition cards cost less than that.)
Even if you're only making 10 DEC per win, by the time you win your daily quest, you'll have earned enough to buy a new card each day; that's on top of the quest reward, which could be DEC, a card, a potion or (1% chance) an orb, containing 5 cards.

You used to be able to earn packs, but then people just started more accounts and farmed them. That and bots sort of ruin the fun for everyone.
Didnt now that but theres always people that will ruin it for everyone, hopefully theres a fix soon.
