Heroes of Mavia is an exciting new blockchain game - a cross of Clash of Clans & Axie Infinity

Land is required to play Heroes of Mavia - this can be purchased, rented, or leased. This document focuses on the superb design of the land model.
Each land plot is unique and can be named by the owner. It is a unique NFT with coordinates on the Mavia island map. The player builds a base on the plot with which to play the game, upgrading it to improve the value and the chance of success in battles.
Mavia
This is the island of Mavia from afar. The colourful area at the bottom is the area available in the intial release of the game. Let's zoom in...
Here we can see the individual land plots shown as bright dots.
Plots are not on a simple grid they are scattered around the map using a separate overlay.
Plot Overlay
This is the land plot overlay.
Each square is a land plot, each square is placed on a real map and knows where it is
When we overlay this over the real map we can see it knows type (woods/lake/canyon/plain/etc) and what bounds each side (another land/cliff/lake/forest). Also from the location it knows the rarity (common/rare/legendary).
Zooming In
Zooming in further we can see the individual plots on the landscape.
Finally, in the closeup we can see each land plot showing it's type and rarity.
We can zoom in and click on each land plot top investigate the owner, land details, and whether it's for sale or not.
Land is completely procedurally generated. Before minting, tweaks to the map or the overlay could completely change the landscapes and plots generated. Here is a close-up view of a generated land plot. Currently empty.
Rarity
Land comes in 3 rarities - Common (70%), Rare (20%), Legendary (10%)
Land Uses
Land can be bought and sold. In-game it can be played to earn Gold, Oil & Ruby and improve it for a higher value. It can be rented to another player for an agreed fixed rate. It can also be shared with another player for a previously agreed share.
Summary
I love the method used to generate land in Mavia - it make the island seem like a real place. Actual plots are only in locations that it would be possible to build (eg not in the middle of a lake on on a cliff). The UI is familiar (like goodle maps)...
...and it really makes the world come alive.
I look forward to purchasing some plots.
