Greetings to all my fellow players around the world and to Splinterlands. How are you all doing Splinters? Hope you are all doing great.

Time flies, Season 170 in Splinterlands is already ending tomorrow. Just a quick update of my game progress I'm currently in Gold 3 and I'll try to reach Gold 2 to improve my rating and secure my place on the leaderboard so I can earn more Glint. New season of Dragon's Feast🐉 is about to start tomorrow as well, hope you guys have a share of the rewards🎁.

For this weeks Social Media Challenge I will be discussing about Arcane Dampening Ruleset. Lets go right ahead to find out whats good about this Modifier.

✨Arcane Dampening

Arcane Dampening was introduce for over a month now. I haven't paid much attention to it until just recently. This ruleset is easy to understand that all Units have Void Ability. So how does Void Ability works? Its simple, all magic damage 50% less damage (rounded up) from magic attacks or 0 damage from magic attacks of 1 power.

You might wonder this is just an ordinary Ruleset, its an ability already present in some cards, and that is true. But for a player like me and others, particularly playing at Gold League and Lower with Novice to Bronze Level Deck, this is a big factor in the game.

I usually start the season at Silver and end up at Gold, sometimes I battle with high level cards, but most of the time Novice to Bronze Level or a little higher like near Silver Level. This league is dominated by Magic Damage, the likes of Death Lorkus, Barashkukor, Warborn Shaman Etc... While in Dragon we have Rage, Night Reaper, Calamity Etc... and we can combine it with other Element. If a player dont have this Cards on there Deck or missing some of the cards then surely he will have a hard time to win. I am not against this Magic Line Up, so don't get me wrong😆, I myself do benefit from this magic line up, this is actually my bread and butter in Splinterlands.

With Arcane Dampening Ruleset, it somehow balances the game for Silver and Gold League. But of course it is not all the time it will be present in every battle, but for sure in one day battling we will encounter it. Let me show you two battle, first is without the Arcane Dampening and watch how Magic Damage is so overwhelming and the second is with Arcane Dampening and see how it balances the game.

BATTLE LINK WITHOUT ARCANE DAMPENING RULESET

As you can see in battle above, same Bronze Level, My Lorkus' Magic Damage Team of Fire and Death Element easily outmatched Eternal Tofu and its Earth line up. The magic was just too much to handle without any magic debuff. Lets head on to second battle with Arcane Dampening.

BATTLE LINK WITH ARCANE DAMPENING RULESET

The second battle is a good example of how Arcane Dampening changes and balances the game. The too much power of Magic Damage Card of Barashkukor and other Magic Unit was reduced significantly due to Arcane Dampening. This Ruleset is really a good addition to the game by Splinterlands. If its not for the ruleset perhaps both of us would have go for Magic Damage Team. We had to do the necessary adjustment and I pull this one because I pay attention to the ruleset which is the Arcane Dampening.

This discussion about Arcane Dampening balancing the game is applicable only in Novice to Bronze Level Deck because we don't have much Magic Buff and Debuff at this stage. For Higher Level Deck there are lots of counter ability that are already available.
