Basics of Splinterlands – A Simple Guide for Beginners

in Splinterlands3 days ago (edited)

Hello Splinterlands lovers! How are you all? Today I will tell you about the basics of Splinterlands how to get cards, how to play, and also about the abilities of the cards.

What is Splinterlands?

First of all, I will tell you what Splinterlands is. Splinterlands is a game through which we can earn, and it runs on the blockchain. This game is a bit like Pokémon. To play this game, we have to understand its cards.

Understanding Splinterlands Cards.

Each card has one or two splinters, which tell us about that card. In the game, there are a total of six splinters, meaning elements Fire, Earth, Water, Life, Death, Dragon, and one Neutral, which means it has no element.
Every card has different powers such as health, speed, armor, etc. Some cards have less, and some have more.

How to Get Cards.

To play, first we have to buy cards, which are bought with real money, or we can rent them. New players should first play Practice Mode, because it already gives some free cards.

Playing in Practice Mode.

To play in Practice Mode, first we have to choose Practice Mode, then click on Start Session. The game will then find an opponent for you.
When the opponent is found, we get some Mana for example, I got 56 Mana. Now click on Enter Arena, and you will reach the place where you can pick your cards.
You have to pick cards according to the Mana you have. Each card costs some Mana some cost 6 Mana, some cost 4, etc.

Choosing a Summoner and Monsters.

First, we have to select a Summoner, who controls the whole team. I chose Lorkus, who costs 7 Mana. After that, we have to choose six monsters, which are the fighting cards.

How Battles Work.

The game automatically makes your cards fight against your opponent’s cards.
In the end, whoever’s cards stay alive is the winner just like I won this game because my cards were stronger.

Practice Mode and Real Battles.

However, in Practice Mode, you neither gain nor lose anything.
So, if you want to earn money, you have to buy cards and play real battles.

If you win those battles, you get money and tokens, and you can also sell or rent out your cards to earn more.
But beginners should first play Practice Mode, so they can learn how to play the game properly.
