Hello guys,

Today I am going to share with you another battle in @splinterlands.

Battle details:
I played with life splinter. And my opponent used fire splinter against me.

It was a battle of total 36 mana with two rules:
Close Range: Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.
Lost Magic: Monsters with magic attack may not be used in battles.

Lineup.

I had my CHANSEUS THE GREAT level 3, HYDRA level 3, SILVERSHIELD BARD level 3, SAND WORM level 6, TRUTHSPEAKER level 2, SILVERSHIELD SHERIFF level 1 and FURIOUS CHICKEN level 4.
And my opponent had his/her cards as PYRE level 2, LIVING LAVA level 2, FINEAS RAGE level 2, SERPENTINE SPY level 3, TOWER GRIFFIN level 1, SPARK PIXIES level 1 and PYROMANCER level 2.

Let me talk about monsters that I used in this battle.

~CHANSEUS THE GREAT. level 3

This legendary life Summoner has three abilities. Each round he restores some armor to a friendly monster whose armor has taken the most damage. Each round he heals a friendly back-line monster that has taken the most damage. And one time in battle he will ressurect a friendly monster. He needs 7 mana. Recently I was using MOTHER KHALA as my main life Summoner but this battle had decent mana cap so I decided to use CHANSEUS THE GREAT instead.

Edition: BETA
Rarity: LEGENDARY
Element: NEUTRAL
Attack: MELEE
ABILITIES: Heal at level 1, Thorns at level 2, Retaliate at level 3, Trample at level 4.

This is a neutral monster, in this level it has melee attacks (3), Speed (4), Health (9).

It has three abilities at this level which are-
Heal: Restores a portion of the monster's health each round.
Thorns: When hit with a melee attack, does damage back to the attacker.
Retaliate: When hit with a melee attack, monsters with retaliate have a chance of attacking their attacker.
Another ability at level 4 is Trample: When a monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the enemy team.

It needs 7 mana. I think that HYDRA is an awesome tank because it healing and great offensive abilities( Thorns and Retaliate). The fact that this monster is neutral and can be used by any Summoner is also really great.

Rarity: RARE
Element: LIFE
Attack: MELEE
ABILITIES: Cleanse at level 1, Swiftness at level 5.

This is a life monster, in this level it has melee attacks (1), Speed (2), Health (2).

It has one ability at this level which is-
Cleanse: Removes all negative effects on the monster in first position on the friendlt team.
Another ability at level 5 is Swiftness: All friendly monsters have increased speed.

It needs 1 mana. SILVERSHIELD BARD is not a card I use often but Cleanse is very good ability to have.

Rarity: COMMON
Element: Neutral
Attack: Melee
ABILITIES: Sneak at level 1, Snare at level 6, Piercing at level 10.

This is a neutral monster, in this level it has melee attacks (6), Speed (3), Health (6).

It has two abilities at this level which are-
Sneak : tacks the last opponent's monster instead of the first.
Snare: removes the flying ability by attacking flying monsters.
Another ability at level 10 is piercing: does damage to monster's health even if that monster has armor.
This card needs 9 mana.

SAND WARM is my favorite weapon for destroying monsters with low Health. In most battles it is a great choice no matter what team I am using.

~TRUTHSPEAKER. level 2

Rarity: RARE
Element: LIFE

ABILITIES: Protect at level 1, Cleanse at level 5, Tank Heal at level 8.

This is a life monster, in this level it has Speed (2), Health (2).

It has one ability at this level which is-
Protect: All friendly monsters gain +2 Armor.
Another ability at level 5 is Cleanse: Removes all negative effects on the monster in first position on the friendlt team.
Another ability at level 8 is Tank Heal: Restores a portion of the monter in the first position's health each round.

It needs 3 mana. I had to add some armor to my team because I wanted to benefit from all abilities of my legendary Summoner. But I would probably haveused this monster even with a diffrent summoner- having more armor is always a good thing. I think that at this level HYDRA is really good with some armor because with Thorns and Retaliate it could do a nice damage to a melee attacker while not taking any damage from their attack(as long as attacker doesn't have piercing ability.)

Element: LIFE
Attack: RANGED
ABILITIES: Snipe at level 1, Piercing at level 3, Protect at level 6.

This is a life monster, in this level it has ranged attacks (3), Speed (3), Health (8).

It has one ability at this level which is-
Snipe: Targets enemy monster with ranged, magic or no attack that are not in the first position.
Another ability at level 3 is Piercing: If melee or ranged attack damage is in excess of the target's armor, the remainder will damage the target's health.
Another ability at level 6 is Protect: All friendly monsters gain +2 Armor.

It needs 9 mana. I needed a monster with snipe ability for a daily quest. Also I battle rules prevented me from using monsters with magic attack. So this monster served as a decent attack option and perhaps more importantly protected my main weapons(HYDRA and SAND WORM) because it has a lot of health.

Element: NEUTRAL
Attack: MELEE

This is a neutral monster, in this level it has melee attacks (1), Speed (1), Health (1).

He needs 0 mana. After selecting my team I still had some space so I added FURIOUS CHICKEN as well. Alone this monster would be already be nice. But in this case it really benefited from the armor and my summoners powers.

In the beginning of this battle my HYDRA was was targeting my opponent's LIVING LAVA. My SAND WORM was attacking PYROMANCER and my SILVERSHIELD SHERIFF was targeting TOWER GRIFFIN. The rest of my team provided defence. SERPENTINE SPY was attacking my FURIOUS CHICKEN and the rest of opponent's team were targeting my HYDRA.

At this point I knew that I will win. My opponent's team was already taking casualties and my team was nearly at full power. SAND WORM was well protected in the middle of my monsters so I would have won even if the rest of team would have had 0 attack power. But I also had HYDRA and SILVERSHIELD SHERIFF so my victory was cerain.

Few remaining opponent's monsters fell and I won.

In this battle I won 6.413 Dec and 3 League Rating. My strategy worked well- HYDRA, SAND WORM and SILVERSHIELD SHERIFF took care of the offensive. And the rest of the team were focused on the defence.
SILVERSHIELD BARD is not the monster I use often. I can see that it would be very useful in many cases. But in this battle my HYDRA had no negative effects so this monster was not very useful.

I think that my team was good and doesn't need any replacements. I would prefer having some magic attack monsters but in this case that was not an option due to the battle rules. So I would probably not change anything in this team.
