With retiring the Share Your Battle weekly challenge, the Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge is live. I must say, the new challenge is much more competitive and challenging because it's not about a card but about a specific ruleset. And you have to fight more battles to pick one to share. Because not every time you will get the desired ruleset.
It's tough but it's fun writing though. I surely will miss the old Share Your Battle challenge.
This is the 8th week of this challenge and this week's Battle Mage Secrets challenge is about the Earthquake ruleset.
Just like the previous challenges in this blog, I'll discuss about the Earthquake ruleset and share the best battle playing in this ruleset.
So, read on...
A Few Words About The Earthquake Ruleset
When the 'Earthquake' ruleset is active, non-flying monsters take 2 melee damage at the end of each round.
As the ruleset clearly states that this will affect only non-flying units, therefore using monsters with 'flying' is the trick for this ruleset.
But if you don't have the scope to choose 'flying' monsters, use monsters with high HP and preferably with the 'heal' ability. Shield has an important role in this ruleset as the monsters with the 'shield' ability only take 1 damage from the earthquake each round.
Using 'protect' and/or 'divine shield' will give you temporary protection for a round or two.
About using a summoner, Brighton Bloom is the first preference (if available) as it gives all the friendly monsters the 'flying' ability. This can be a game changer in this ruleset. But beware of 'snare' monsters from the enemy team as the snared units are considered non-flying.
THE BATTLE
Now I'm sharing my strategy and the lineup for the best battle I won while the Earthquake ruleset is active.
RULESETS
Mana Cap: 36
Ruleset :-
Earthquake: Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
Noxious Fumes: All Monsters start the battle Poisoned.
Active Splinters: Earth, Life, Death, Dragon.
My Strategy and Team Setup
SUMMONER
Lorna Shine
When playing with a melee-attack-based team, Lorna Shine is my favorite summoner. She provides the 'divine shield' to the friendly monsters which is a battle-winning ability.
Also, the perfect monster for this ruleset combo is from the Life Splinter. That's why I chose Lorna.
Team Setup
As you all know, my favorite team combination from the Life Splinter is Lorna Shine and her 'sneak' attack army. Though they are low in HP. In this battle, they act as the secondary monster.
I placed my primary monster, the Kralus, in this fifth position. This monster has two unique ability combos, 'flying' and 'immunity', that makes it a perfect monster for this battle.

Key Points Of This Battle
In this battle, I had this high-level summoner and monster advantage already because my enemy was low-level, but using Kralus and the strategy of placing him in the fifth position was the key point to winning the battle.
Lorna provides the 'divine shield' that saved my team from the first round of 'earthquake' damage. And the 'sneak' attack army destroyed the enemy team from behind, at least for a while.
The earthquake and poison damage did the rest of the work and the Kralus remains as the only survivor of this tough battle.
Because of this good strategy, my team brings home winning.
