Like the previous challenges, I'll share the best battle I won this week using the Dax Paragon in my team.

THE LORE

Dax knew nothing but a life of luxury since the time he was born. Growing up in a mansion overflowing with the finest of items, his wealthy parents were business and landowners that dominated the competition in the city of Lyveria. Their business was called Paragon Enterprises. An only child, Dax was often left to his own devices as his parents ran their enterprise. Often it felt like the entire mansion was his to do with as he pleased.

When he became old enough, Dax was given his large inheritance to begin his own sect of his family's business, which he called Dax's Consultations. He would be called upon by the wealthy, the greedy, and the powerful to consult for them. He would analyze their business practices, their competition, and provide advice. He became renowned for his success, and was thought of as the “secret ingredient” to any tycoon's business. And because of this, Dax soon became immersed in a world of spoils. He lived a fast life of luxury, of gold, and of stabbing anyone in the back that tried to cross him. Often literally.

When the Chaos Legion turned their eye on Dax, he looked right back and was intrigued. He saw new power that he hadn't yet known. He communicated with their intermediaries until the day the Chaos Legion invaded the Splinterlands. Dax was then graced with an audience before Silus of the Rift himself. During this conversation, Dax proved himself well-informed, cunning, and ambitious. He was given the opportunity to be an advisor for the most powerful person he'd ever come across. Dax now serves closely at Silus' side, advising him on strategies to control the Splinterlands.

Mr. Wilnett, leader of the criminal guild known as the Silver Coins, leaned his back against the stone alley wall. Darkness enveloped him, and his low hat helped to further shadow his face. The contact he was meeting, a weaselly young man referred to as Trout, shuffled before him.

“I think I can leave before dawn,” Trout stammered, trying for a glare but not succeeding. “I can get out of town and my debt will be forgotten.”

“Are you certain no one knows?” Mr. Wilnett said calmly. He'd dealt with enough cowards to be unfazed by their mewling.

“Only one person. Dax Paragon forged my financial statements. He-”

Mr. Wilnett cut him off with a raised hand. “Then you are no longer a free man. If Dax Paragon knows, it should be considered that everyone knows.”

Trout huffed. “Dax is barely older than me. He does not frighten me.”

“It would be unwise of you to cross Dax Paragon. He has a network of powerful people at his disposal. One word from him, and you'll never be seen again.”

BATTLE STATS AND ABILITIES OF THE DAX PARAGON

Before I share my strategy and the battle, let's talk about the stats and abilities of this card.

Dax Paragon Stats.png

The Dax Paragon is an Epic Life unit card from the Chaos Legion edition.
This magic attack card costs 2 mana to use in the battle which makes this card a low-mana-cost card.
Talking about the abilities, this monster has the 'amplify' ability activated from level 2. With this ability, this monster increases 'Magic Reflect', 'Return Fire', and 'Thorns damage' to all enemy monsters by 1.
From level 5 the 'affliction' ability is activated. With this ability, when a monster with 'Affliction' hits a target, it has a chance of applying affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed.

The card's stats also increase through levels, from 1 magic attack, 2 speeds, and, 3 health in level 1, to 1 magic attack, 2 speeds, and 5 health in level 4.
At the highest level 6, the stats of this card are 2 magic attacks, 2 speeds, and, 5 health.

My Strategy and Team Setup

SUMMONER

Lorna Shine

When playing with the Life splinter, Lorna Shine is my favorite summoner. It provides great support against high-damage enemy teams.

TEAM SETUP

Team Setup.png

As I intended to use Dax Paragon's 'amplify' ability effectively, I placed the Hydra in the tank position as it has the 'thorns' ability.
Next, there's the Silvershiled Assassin with the incredible combo of 'double strike' + 'sneak' ability.
In the 3rd position, I placed the Silvershiled Knight with the 'inspire' ability to increase the melee attack of the friendly monsters.
The Dax Paragon is in the 4th position as a supportive monster.
The High Priest Darius placed in the 5th position with the 'resurrect' ability and in the last position, there's Uriel The Purifier, as a second tank.

My Takes On The Dax Paragon

The Dax Paragon is really a useful card. Though it doesn't have anything useful at level 1, but from level 2 we can use its 'amplify' ability in various use-cases.
At higher levels, this card offers more usefulness.
On certain rulesets, like 'briar patch' (thorns), 'counterspell' (magic reflect), and 'fire & regret (return fire), the use of this monster can be a turning point in a battle.
Apart from this, the Dax Paragon is a handy monster for low mana cap battles.
As I said above, it may be fragile, but useful.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy worked perfectly in this battle.
It was an advantage that my enemy team was low-level. The Hydra did an amazing job as a tank as it did several damages to the enemy tank.
The Silvershield Assassin managed to deal good damages to the enemy back-row. Dax Paragon further amplifies the thorns damaged by the Hydra.
High Priest Darius once resurrected the Hydra and it was a great help.
With this perfect strategy, I brought home a win.

Good analysis and consideration about Dax Paragon.
Hydra and Dax Paragon is a good combo.
